Agreed and I think Cronk's biggest asset is his defensive reading. Combine that with the fact he knows Smith and Slater better than anybody (INCLUDING BELLAMY!!!) what we need is him on the field telling people where to go.

Cronk is no flashy passer. Last week he was fine with passing because all he ever does is little passes to the right person. Other than that (like any champion organiser), most of his work is done off the ball. His work off the ball shut Souffs (who have bigger, more aggressive forwards than Melbourne) out of the scoreboard completely but for penalties.

We don't need a JT/Benji-style half doing whacked out passes. We need stability and cool heads. Cool heads because Ado-Carr style backs are idiots who will only score if you give them a gap (and you won't catch them once they exploit it). Teddy and Latrell will make gaps if we defend right and hang in there.

Injured or otherwise, the Storm will not win a GF with a 'run hard at Cronk' tactic. If anything encouringing them to do that will flatten their options (and make them pretty predictable). It's also a dog act doing what they did to Feki (i.e. intentionally injure him) to a close mate. IMO that's not beyond them but we are smarter than the Sharks so won't get bullied by it.
