  • Back to Back

The best thing to come out of last night is self-belief. Keary and Radley believe that they can run the show without Cronk. Our forwards already believe they can dominate any forward pack in the comp. Crighton to come in. Collins, Butcher, and Farmer Silly to grow into men. Barring a horrific injury toll, this team is going to shock everyone at how easily we break the back-to-back hoodoo.

The NRL will try their hardest to change the ruck interpretations to keep the merry-go-round going, but in the end Greenturd and his cronies will be sucking on a big fat Coq.

We basicly are replacing Fergo with Morris and that pommy bloke, and Matterson with Crichton.
Our depth looks better next year than it did at the start of this one.
Porter is another young forward with a lot of potential.

It's hard to say because obviously each season starts afresh with a clean slate for all clubs.
Can TR recreate the same attitude and intensity in the camp from this season? (anyone remember in 2014 SBW turning around in a game and giving his mates a spray)
I can see loads of pluses for next season and expect us to put 40-50+ on some of the stragglers.
The new highly rated attack coach coming from the storm. (we were promised a better attack in 2014 but they didn't improve IMO)
Manu and Mitchell a year older and wiser (special mention to Manu's defence)
Crichton coming over who IMO has a point to prove now because he had a shocking finals series for souths even if he wasn't 100%.
What I love is that if you cut some of our guys in half.....like Radley, Tedesco etc... they would have Red, White and Blue running through them. It has to make a difference.

On paper it seems that the team will only get better.

It will have to come down to the attitude of our players. I feel that is what we lacked in both 2003 and 2014 when trying to go back to back.

Our young guns like Latrell, Manu, Teddy will be especially critical in this. As will Cronk wanting to go out a winner. But really everyone needs to just want it as bad as they did last night.

Wayne Bennett said that a lack of desire is the biggest reason why no team has gone back to back for 20 years. Hard to disagree

Can we not play the Brisbane ladies and get our revenge for our ladies team. There props look tasty and might give JWH and Napa something to think about!

I feel 2018/19 is different to those seasons you mention. In 2003 we had Chris Walker, Todd Byrne, and terrential rain. In 2014 Souths had a hot side and we lost Napa/Maubs/Friend at the wrong time.

We only got a glimpse of what this team is capable of and will be a lot stronger next year. Storm are gone. We take Chrichton from Souths. Sharks are dad's army. Dragons, Panthers, and Raiders could be a threat but geez they have a lot of ground to make up on us.

Shame Ryan hall got injured, could've had a chance to take on his countrymen in the WCC.

On another note, I can't believe I've seen 3 premierships in my lifetime

I thought we were an excellent chance in 2014 when SBW signed back on. We had the same side. Then the Souffs hysteria started and it was all over red rover.

I think we are an excellent chance again. Fergo is a big loss. But we get Crichton and I think there will be a massive signing totally out of the blue before the end of the year that should really cause other fans to self-destruct.

We will be in it up to our necks.

                          Go Easts.

I hear Hall probably won't be ready to play after his injury until around May, which means Morris gets first crack at the right wing spot. If Morris plays well consistently then I guess Hall will be used as a backup player.
