I’ll be surprised if he gets a new contract but he was immense in the finals.

I love him. Got to be in top class of defenders and with peachy most versatile. Cant fault his passion and commitment to club.

my perspective is he is slowing and offers less in attack. I trust trents judgment but feel similar to Tobin in his view

He'll get two more years to bring up 300 games and then retire into a role at the club - just like our other two 300 gamers.

Politis looks after his loyal Roosters; who in turn offer our club so much post playing career.

Fitzy is another one. One of our club's genuine all time legends given his tenure here.

this is the passion within our club, yes winning premierships is great for business but were also a real club with real passion and loyalty must be a two way street!

Always gives 100% and a great example to our young players. I think he will accept the clubs decision on his future as I have heard him talk about playing out his career as a Rooster and retiring at the end of next year but would love it if they gave him the chance to achieve the magic 300 in the Red, White and Blue, no one deserves it more.
He would've looked good in a blue jumper! Can't understand why he was never picked for the bench.

I see him as a bench player next year.
But he provides more value in that role than people give him credit for.
              Injuries happen.
              Aubbo deserves game 300.

With the exception of Cronk and Tedesco for obvious reasons, every player has had their best season this year.

He should be given a contract to play as a Rooster as long he wants to.

He was immense in the GF. I was wrong to say earlier in the year that his best was behind him. He stood up in the big occassions and made some very smart runs and tackles.

A true clubman and he deserves to reach 300

I think he proved himself throughout the finals series.

                      Definitely deserves one more year.

Beyond that, i suspect father time will be catching up with him.

Can’t be sentimental in the salary cap era.

Sentimentality has nothing to do with it. You can reward loyalty, you can show class and show your culture. He is on $300k, that's less then one 30th of our salary cap. His contact runs out end of next year. He has 263 games up and will probably get to around 285 next year. If he wants another year which will get him to 300 games I say our club will gain more by giving it to him. He knocked back higher offers to stay with us in the past, he is not just any player, he is a one club man. He will turn 32 in October next year, maybe if we go back to back he will be happy to go out after the GF. I'd love to see that, maybe he doesn't care about the 300, from what I have see he is all class, and he will put the team ahead of his personal goals anyway, but if he is still fit and wants to play in 2020 then I reckon he deserves the chance over some unproven youngster. time will tell, but Aubo won't let himself be a liability, he has too much class for that.

Does the club currently have a replacement as hard working? His efforts in the GF to protect Cronk showed just how important he still is to our team. I have no problem with a one year extension.

Well, by this time next year we'll know. A year is a long time in footy and I imagine neither the club nor the player will be any hurry to make a decision. A lot of practical factors will come into play and many of them beyond his control. Injury, the development of others like Sitili, for example. All Aubo can do is to keep performing when given the chance. If it makes sense to give him another year, he will get it. And if he does, you can be sure the Roosters will put on a show for his 300th!

He will be here in 2020. I'd bet my left nut on it.....
