Because souths fans are grasping at straws...They think that by getting Bennett it's like us getting Cronk and teddy...They are still smarting about that so any news of getting someone with a name is good enough. They don't realise that they were rejected by a rookie and they're getting an old reject.

Bennett has rejected them twice...I wasn't aware of that. Yet Souths after begging him a third time get him AND because Bennett has been punted by the club he thought he'd be there till retirement, he had to choose the best offer a minnow club could offer cause no big club would even consider him.

I hate Souffs as much as any Roosters fan. But I have a lof of respect for many at Souths Juniors and if Richardson stuffing them up isn't bad enough together with Bennett they will truly ruin their juniors.

As it turns out Newcastle more than anybody regretted Bennett rejecting Souths. He left a great rugby league town in a shambles which they didnt deserve

Agreed. And when you talk about buying premierships, Newcastle tried that. However Darius Boyd, Timana Tahu, Willie Mason, Aluila Uate and friends were flogs who offered nothing (and resulted in the club having salary cap pressure despite being shyte).

To be fair, they did make the 2013 preliminary final. I enjoyed watching that game..

You realise that Uate is a Knights junior? He was already there when Bennett arrived, they didn't go out and buy him.

On Seibold I don't think he has done enough to be rated yet. Souffs achieved a bit this year, but they were def on a downward spiral and in my opinion the guy only has self interest at stake

Brisbane must be crazy staking their future on Seibold. He is absolutely unproven at this stage. All he has to his name is a veey good mid season run; after which his team was found out big time. Their vaunted attack wouldn't have scored a try against us if the game was still going...

Even Kevin Moore had a great debut season. He took the Dogs to week 2 of the finals in 2009 and then was puss in 2010 & 2011. Freddy's first season was great too.

It's not uncommon for rookie coaches to have a good debut year only for it to go south once familiarity sets in and the opposition has had the opportunity to study your methods.

I hope Bennett is a dud for Souffs but I hope Seibold is an even bigger flop because they have a very talented squad that could be our biggest threat over the next 2 seasons.

Also if he's as selfish and shady a character as you've alluded (with the backstabbing) then his lack of character will hurt him in short time too.
