I wonder what his role would be; maybe he can be their new fullback when Inglis retires as their is no way they will prise Mitchell away. Souths are doing some very strange things at present.
Seriously - he is like the Mick Malthouse of Carlton/Collingwood etc - just can't give it away."Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

You shouldn’t sign a coach that old. Not to come across as mean or cold hearted, but what happens if your in the middle of a season, then suddenly...you know... I mean, I think it is something you have to address when someone who is 70 years of age is a coach prospectEASTS TO WIN!

This whole coaching movements is bizarre.
No way Ivan gets a second gig at Penrith if it wasn't for Nathan. Id be embarrassed to go back if i was Ivan.
Old Des Hasler goes to the Bulldogs and got free reign which resulted in the destruction of the club from the bottom up.......and Manly take him back?
Why did the Tigers pay 2.5 million for 3 years for Michael Maguire?I mean the guy isnt in demand.....the Souths players couldn't wait for him to get punted and he couldn't get a start anywhere else in 2018 even if he offered to coach for free.
I get why the Broncos want a young progressive coach like Siebold but Souths hitting back by signing Bennett? That loss the Broncos had against St George showed exactly why the Broncos head honchos want him out. Despite having a far superior team and playing at home as raging favourites the Broncos weren't mentally prepared for the sudden death game, like they have always been in the last 3 years....and that goes back to the coach.
Its actually fun watching all these desperate teams fighting over each others rabble of shitLast edited by Random Rooster; 10-26-2018, 04:01 AM.

Souths are now up for even more costs, after signing the geriatric Bennett, he's going to need a full time carer, to push his wheel chair to get to the games, and take him for his pee breaks, as well as a seniors funeral plan, etc, etc, the list just goes on, at least it'll feel like playing for your grandfather for the players.

I wouldn't write Bennett off just yet, the guy has won a few comps and he'll attract some good players to the club. Still a lot can happen in a year and Souths will do well not to go backwards over the next 12 months. Unless Souths can convince Bennett to come early (good luck with that) they might have a few problems. For Bennett will it be more like Newcastle or St George?
Cleary to the Panthers is an odd one. It's a big gamble on all sides. They sacked him, and now they're giving him five years. Still, they have a lot of good players and will be dangerous.
Maguire to the Tigers could be good for both parties. He'll work them hard and might get them up the ladder a bit.
