i guess one advantage cronk has is he is manufactured, so he can explain what he does and teach it, whereas a johns or fittler or thurston or alexander were more naturally talented but probably would respond with a shrug of the shoulders and yea just play , although some of johns breakdowns on 9 are pretty damn good , and he can explain it well, im sure cronk could do it better

There is NO way I would advocate anyone replacing our spine players. Especially a 1/2 moving to FB as has been ass-u-med.
What was discussed, and years ago under the influences of course, was the opinion the SJ/Mundane style 1/2 or 5/8 would/could have been good at FB.
At that stage FBs were more like Mini or early Slater, freakish attackers but not 2nd/3rd ball players.
I also thought the same about Daley as a player. I reckon hed have ripped at FB. Nowadays as the game is played.
Just a personal observation, not advocating that here and now with our team.
SJ to replace Cronkite in 2020, well that is another proposition all together. I could see it happening and working IF the club choose to go that way.
The FlogPen .
You know it makes sense.

Shaun Johnson just received a release from his contract with the Warriors, the Sharks/Eels/Dragons are among the favourites to sign him.
Have to wonder if Uncle Nick/Robbo would of been interested in Johnson if he just saw out the final year of his contract and was available next offseason, would of been fun watching Keary/Johnson/Teddy/Latrell in the same attack.

The Shaun Johnson saga has taken another intriguing twist with revelations that he is only available to rival clubs for 2019.
Wide World of Sports has learned that Johnson’s management has told clubs they can only sign the Kiwi Test star on a one-year deal - suggesting he has already come to terms for a club for 2020.
WARRIORS RELEASE JOHNSON AFTER TENSE MEETING
If that is the case, the Roosters would seem Johnson’s eventual long-term home, given that Cooper Cronk is retiring at the end of next season.
Sources at the Roosters say they want more of an organising halfback, but they may also find the lure of a world-class player like Johnson too great.
Parramatta is another club that may be interested in the talented playmaker for 2020.Johnson was released by the Warriors effective immediately (AAP)
Johnson was released by the Warriors earlier today and is in the sights of several clubs, with Cronulla the favourites to gain his services.

Like I mentioned above I would love to see an attack with Keary/Johnson/Teddy/Latrell so much strike power, how would opposition teams begin to try and contain that.

Which club would sign him up for one year? It seems a bit bizarre to ask for an immediate release unless the Sharks don't think Flanagan Jnr will be ready for another 12 months.
It would also be disheartening for the Souvlaki brothers if we got SJ for 2020.
