Why not Kasiano on the cheap??

Kasiano certainly would be great value for $350, he is only 28, 2 years older than Napa, and certainly a much more skilled ball player which is what we need. he was injured most of this year, but fit he would be great for us. I see the Bulldogs are reported to be chasing Napa who is on between $600 and $700, but I don't think Kasiano would be on $350, he was on $700 at the dogs in 2016, and they paid part of his contract when he went to the storm because of the cap. I think he might be around $500K.

Why would we replace the hardest defender in the comp (voted by his peers) with a bloke that has struggled with weight issues, is often injured, struggles laterally in defence, is unwanted by Melba all cos he can offload???

I can see why Pay (an awesome defender in his day) would be chasing Napalm. Makes sense.

What I don't see is why replace possibly the best defensive prop in the game with a sieve when we build our whole game on DEFENCE???

So you really think Napas defence was a big contributor to our winning the premiership? I just don't get it, I have never seen him hurt anyone without getting penalized or suspended. I said a FIT Kasiano would be great for us, and I will stick with that. I also said IF we could get a FIT Kasiano for $500 he would certainly be worth considering.

Yes we won the comp on our Defence and Napalm is a big part of our defence, so it stands to reason I believe he played his part in the victory.

In saying that im not so black and white. I don't believe one factor was the major contributor to our season or GF win.

That is why we won the comp and received very few personal awards before the GF.

We are a TEAM. The coach uses all the pieces, all with their individual strengths, and composes a gameplan to win.

Can I ask why you are so down on the bloke??? You seem hell bent on buying attacking forwards when we have had all our success with defensive forwards. I am struggling to see why.

You have a good point about his defence, and he will be playing for a contract next year and at age 26 we might see the best of him so far. The reason I think there are better options is for our overall game. I believe he should have an offload, and get quicker play the balls to justify the money he is on. Being a hard hitter is great, but they all get up and play on these days and the role of the hitman has diminished since Morley's time. Anyway, looks like he will be here for at least another year so let's hope he goes well.
