On Tuesday morning, Mr Daley had told Jones in a heated on-air exchange that he would dump the majority of the SCG Trust's board members because they had "colluded" with the government to fund an "unnecessary" and "scandalous" $730 million rebuild of Allianz Stadium in Moore Park.

"What we've got here is a board that was in on the fix, if you like, the $737 million of the great rip-off of taxpayers," he said on Tuesday.

Mr Daley had accused the board of ripping out the fire sprinklers at the stadium "under the cover of darkness".

On Wednesday morning Jones fired back, saying this was incorrect because the venue, constructed in 1988, never had a fire sprinkler system.

A very precarious time for us tbh, we could be playing out of the SCG for a very long time if there is a change of government. The demolition will happen, a new stadium however could easily get scrapped if the bitter South Sydney supporter takes over the state - he would love nothing more than to see us homeless.
