Then we'll know who to blame if Daley wins and we don't get our new stadium.

    • It's costing the govt/taxpayers $50,000 a day every day that the demolition is delayed

Mate, maybe you haven't made most of the comments on this thread but, just quietly, it feels that way …

And your analysis of the stadium issue could be wrong - if Daley wins, then it's probable that the stadium will be built using private money, or some sort of public private partnership.

He's said he'll stick it back together the way it was and renovate it.
Which will cost how much ...$500m?
And we'll still have an old and unsafe stadium with no room for more facilities for women players, no more women's toilets and no more spaces for disabled patrons.
He said he'll rip up the light rail too.
          Talk about spiteful.
Do Labor govts even know what a surplus budget is?

Private money...with a large toll on every bag of chips and every ticket.
No one will be able to afford to go there.
Gladys will be funding it all....with ticket prices etc affordable...both stadiums only 2% of her construction budget.
The question you must ask yourself..."is Daley talking me into voting for him by having me believe there can only be a new Allianz stadium OR 'schools and hospitals', when there can easily be both."?

Alan Jones, who he seems to dislike so much,,,and is going to sack if elected Premier...indeed is the longest serving SCG Trust board member...having been reappointed by 5 Labor govts.

I don't agree with most of what you're saying here, but good luck to you.

            • I don't wish to get involved in political arguments about the Stadium rebuild. What I would like to see however is the Stadium made better for the sake of the general sporting public. If it means knock down rebuild then so be it. And it would appear that is the best option for everyone. So can we just get on with it. The cost in the long run is insignificant in the big picture. There a a number of major sport teams that use the facility, and for the sake of their fans it is a no brainer. Can we just agree on that point and stop the political side of the issue. Thank you and Giddy up!

The ONLY way we'll be getting a new stadium is for voters to re-elect the Liberal govt.
                The stadium is political.
It's obviously not a no-brainer for Daley Labor and their supporters.
They seemingly begrudge the sporting public of nsw a new stadium.

                • Yes Bondi.Boy., Point taken. It's sad that Mr Daley sought to politicise this. However the solution for all fans of every Football code is to not vote for him so that it will be rebuild the as a safe and comfortable place to enjoy our footy.

                  • I’ve experienced both side of politics sell public assets to private business. Governments are vulnerable to serious negotiators. Big business always expect ROI and the public pays. Look at water, electricity, desalination, toll roads.
My fear of this concept is we go the way of US where professional sport unaffordable to the majority.

that would be a tragedy if happens here.

N.b. No political slant in this msg

I won't be blaming Zac if Daley wins, his is just one vote.......
Rightly or wrongly many people will want to punish the Coalition because of their Federal colleagues......

To make it 100% clear, one poster amongst us (multiple accounts but pretty darn obvious the same idiot) was previously a QLD MLA for the Liberal Party. The guy has lived in QLD his entire life and is using this forum as a fukking political billboard.

Shame on you mate, shame. That's all I've got to say. Now STFU because we are all sick of your BS. It's not even your fukking state, dude!!!

it won't happen here Axe,its just not financially viable for private enterprise to invest in stadiums. We csan barely fill our stadiums at 25 bucks a ticket excluding 4-5 games a year. Any private investment would be lucky to get a 1% ROI a year on a 750m stadium outlay after operating costs. Its nothing like the states where an organization like the Dallas cowboys can fork out over a billion dollars 10 years ago and already well and truly have got their money back.
