  • Can't see that being the case.

    Could be that he's run out of places to go, as clubs seem to be scared of offending Gallop and the NRL for one thing.

    Maybe he could get a start in Union somewhere, Willie did.
    He'd go well in Union, wouldn't have to make as many tackles, good step, kicks goals.

    Jonny Wilkinson Mk2...I can see it clearly.

      I think its more to do with them being scared of the circus that rolls into town once Toddles decides to go on another bender than it has to do with offending Gallop.

        The France deal is looking less likely too.
        Is there anything in print that says the France deal is not still available?

          Ten NRL leagues clubs warning on funding cuts to football teams as pokie laws set to cost them millions

          FOOTBALL UNDER FIRE: Ten NRL clubs, including the North Queensland Cowboys, face a bill of more than $40 million to install pre-commitment spending chips in machines. Source: The Daily Telegraph

          . Clubs face $40million bill
          . Some may be forced to close
          . Government warned "for months"

          TEN NRL leagues clubs have warned they will cut millions in funding to their football teams - and even pull out altogether - because of the federal government's plan to limit how much people can gamble on poker machines.

          The clubs include some of the biggest in rugby league, and between them face a bill of more than $40 million to install pre-commitment spending chips in machines.

          St George Illawarra will have funding cut altogether from St Georges Leagues from 2014. The club has warned it may be forced to close.

          And this week the Canberra Raiders had funding from the CFMEU/Tradies Club pulled.

          The clubs, teams and increased costs they face, are:

          COWBOYS Leagues Club (Nth Qld) $3 million;
          PENRITH Rugby League Club (Panthers) $10.6 million;
          PARRAMATTA Leagues Club (Eels) $7.1 million;
          ST GEORGE Leagues Club (Dragons) $6.2 million;
          QUEANBEYAN Leagues Club (Raiders) $4.7 million;
          EASTERN Suburbs Leagues Club (Roosters) $4 million;
          MANLY Warringah Rugby League Club (Sea Eagles) $3.1 million;
          CRONULLA Sutherland Leagues Club (Sharks) $2.9 million;
          BALMAIN Leagues Club (Wests Tigers) $2.4 million;
          ILLAWARRA Steelers (Dragons) $1.5 million.

          NRL CEO David Gallop confirmed clubs were in deep trouble and said the Raiders' experience proved it.

            This sort of confirms the rumblings around the traps.

              So, he can't go to France.
              Oh well they don't speak English anyway, and it's colder than Canberra.

              The other 4 clubs not on that list are:

              Titans
              Roosters
              Manly
              Cowboys

              Cowboys are out, given the above article.
              Roosters are out.
              Manly has Foran.

              Titans is the only club left.

              Now that he's all alone, no friends, no club, and no hope...he should learn the lesson well..."Never trust 'anyone'".

                      Geez you are a drama queen. Carney has plenty of friends, who do you think he's out on the drink with?? Myles and all his Canberra mates for starters. The fact that they're not the friends he needs but that's his choice. As is everything else.

                      And you probably wouldn't want him at Le Catalan Dragons anyway, Brian Smith's son is their strength and conditioning coach and so the Smith connection would still be there. And I know you blame Smith for a lot of Carney's life choices. So you'd probably blame Keegan for any problems in France.
