    He is an average forward

He was the best, or one of the best we had.

The other forwards we have must improve over a full season to beat his metre-gaining record this year.

His best here is achknowleged but It aint any thing special compared to other forwards at other clubs.
Now he has been here for what 4 years or is it 5 been useful for 1 -thats not good form for an SOO player.
He was way over paid and the club made the right decision I am happy for that money to be spent on the developemnet of Tasi,Cordner and Mose .keep Myles and we lose all these 3.
        He is replaceable
what is not easy to replace these days are halves

          Everyone is replaceable.

Our new forwards have to prove themselves...4 games do not a season make.

There are reports that Todd Carney was seen last night full as a boot. He likes to do all his drinking in the public eye. Any clubs thinking of signing him for 2012 must gamble on him changing his ways.

              So you don't think that

              * going DUI
              * lying in court about pledging to get help for your alcohol problems
              * lying about going home to visit mum and instead staying in Sydney to get on the drink just weeks after telling the judge you were getting help for your alcoholism
              * thumbing your nose at the rest of the team by breaking a pledge to stay off the grog

If in your eyes this doesn't constitute Todd dropping a dirty great pile of you know what on the club, his team mates and the fans that support him, then all I can say is you are a far more tolerant person than I. Well done to you.

It takes a lot more for then promises to keep carney off the drink and Smith was aware that carney was no longer going to his mum house.

Maybe the question you should be asking is why the club signed him to begin with. He even showed signs of this last yr but I guess he got us the results it was ok aye?

                  The word is called opportunity.

They monitored his performance in Atherton, Spoke to those that were closest to him and agreed that he had come far enough himself to move forward from the Past he had in Canberra.

in 2010, he showed with focus and control what he can do. problem seems, he did not want to have that control, it's not as fun. In the end, he made promises, not just to the club, but to the courts and to himself. if he was willing to stick to those promises, the club would have stuck by him.

For too long he has had people cleaning up and covering for him.

he needs to show responsibility for his actions.

I didn't want him from the start. I knew a lot about his history in Canberra and what has been documented of his behaviour down there was really only the tip of the iceberg. There was a lot of other shit that they had been able to sweep under the carpet. I was blown away by his transformation last year, thought to myself, shit, I might have been wrong about this guy, but sadly I was right all along. So in essence, yes, I agree. Maybe the question should be why did we sign him in the first place? A lot of fans will then point to his performances last year as evidence as to why we took a risk on him, but you then have to consider whether his performances last year followed by his de-railment this year has set us back in our rebuilding process.

The only person who can be blamed is CARNEY himself. No-one else. The club, the coach and his teammates gave him plenty of chances. They wanted him to do well. But they can only do so much. You can lead a horse to water............. Carney is selfish, immature and cares about no-one but himself. He is 25 years old. My 8 year old son shows more responibility for his actions than Carney. He's 25 years old and it's about time he started acting like it. Sorry for the rant!

In 2010 the same rumours surfaced that he was getting pissed every night in the pre-season and the club knew about it. Once again it didn't matter cause on the field he got the results. This season started off injured, our results on the field were a disgrace and he broke a promise to his team mates.

Had carney got the results on the field, he would still be here!

Now we probably get SBW :S

                              From Today's SMH:

[Whether he can find another NRL club remains to be seen. His former club Canberra, whose chairman John McIntyre had expressed a desire to bring home a rehabilitated Carney, have already ruled themselves out of making a pitch for him, as have Cronulla.

The Herald contacted a number of other clubs last night and while some said salary cap pressures would prevent them signing him next season, others made it clear his off-field problems were too much of a risk.

One official gave an indication of the battle ahead for Carney when asked whether he would consider offering him a lifeline. ''When hell freezes over,'' he said.[/U][/U][/U]
