  • Finally got to see the 1997 Semi Final

The Roosters vs Norths one that was preempted by Diana's funeral over 21 years ago. I remember I had plans to go but had a foul dose of the flu. So I never got to see the end until last night.

I never thought I'd say this but thanks Foxtel.

There is a DVD of that game at myreplay.com.au if you want to buy it. Waiting for a season highlights DVD of the Roosters 2018 season to come out, or at least a premiers pack like the one in 2013. The West Coast Eagles in the AFL was released in about a month after they won.

same. it would be great if they could do a premiers pack, but if it hasnt been released yet i don't think there'll be one. which is a shame, coz those finals games against the sharks and souffs are just as great as the grand final

        Download the “nine now” app

it has all those games in full, plus pre grand final and semi final interviews and post game interviews for all the finals games.

not sure how long they stay on there for.

          http://www.rugbyleaguedvds.com/indexcatalogue.html

You can pay a one off membership fee and stream a heap of the old games

I was at that game. When that news came over there was complete silence then a heap of murmuring.
got home to watch the end of the game and they skip the finish.

I remember watching the delayed broadcast was a bit of an anti-climax as it was an exciting game that went to extra time, but they had to finish on time to start the funeral telecast, so at full-time, they just showed a quick replay of the tries and it was like 'yeah, the Roosters won....now off to the funeral. So I was also happy to see the game properly some time ago.

She died the week before the semi final. We played Norths the final game before the semis and Gus rested a heap of guys. Norths were supposed to beat us but we got up 29-20. You're thinking of that game as there would have been no announcement at the semi final as she had died the week before.

Regarding old games on fox, this morning they had Easts v Saints in 1991. Wow some old names I remember vividly like McGahan, Salvo, Vautin and Hill...Then there was Sherlock, Trewella and someone I totally forgot of Beecraft... Got smacked by Offiah who scored a hat trick that night at the SFS. Salvo and McGahan were great...As for the much maligned Fatty, well he did have a good game that night and showed some skills with the boot too. Even though we lost I thought it was a good reminder of where we were then, in the dark ages as far as true success goes.

Love watching their "classic matches" series.

Caught some of an old Easts Souths clash last week. Not spot on with the year.

Rocket rod silva, dave sides in camp, the late James Matthews, Protheroe, Brendan Hall (Ryans dad thanks Mickie), the Whizz, Brucey Sinclair, Stevie Hanson, Shirt Kerlock etc etc..

                      Mammaries...love it.
