If you think referees are inconsistent now you should have been around then.

Scrum penalties were constant and in this modern age (when penalties are so important) the referees would have way too much influence on the game if the proper scrum came back.

That together with the fact that current players would not know what to do and the concern with "workplace injuries" means they will never come back.
No I was..I wondered when they became insignificant. I love the battle of two packs thus watching league form a scrum is embarrassing but lets remember when the Roosters push the Tigers in the semi of 2010 to get that shot at goal. As for the penalties...come on there are so many insignificant penalties in league in normal play. Also, the video ref in union is a much quicker process, one or two views and the decision is quick unlike the clowns that run league.

No way!!! I might have to watch the replay. It must have been a magical moment in Wallaby history.

      • not only that, he saved a try with that tackle too, unlike money bill who let one in !

        • I know I have stuck up for him numerous times, but now it has been bumped I may aswell add another few thoughts haha.
If the Reds didn't have Quade, they wouldn't have won the Super 15, no doubt about it. The only other fly-half that would have had the same impact (or greater obviously) is Carter, if they had any other fly-half they wouldn't have come close.
I know he played crap, but I just don't like people watching a few games at International level and then judge him on that.

          • IMO Quade would need atleast a season, after that who knows.

Yes your right you've stuck up for him all along but he hasn't had a good world cup no matter how good the Super 15 was. It's obvious that something is bugging him. He seems like he is another planet at times. How you can say he will be great for us? What if he is shyte like he's playing at the moment? As fans, your asking us to accept what he did in the Super 15 at the same you don't want to accept what he's doing now. I personally don't think he will be good in league though I'm waiting to be proven wrong. I'd like someone more reliable like Barnes. Had he not come into the game yesterday, I'm sure Cooper would have blown it.

                  • Cooper would be a huge signing for us. If he came to league he would be one of the best 5/8's in the game after a couple of seasons. He is a pretty erratic player, if he was next to pearce we would have a bit of a good mixture in the halves. This is all in my own opinion. As for Sonny-bill, everyone has seen how he played league. He is brilliant.

Rod the only thing you are likely to catch is a cold you dullard.

Have I not said, on numerous occassions that Cooper has been poor so far?
How many times did people say about Carney, that form is temporary, class is permanent.
As you said, Cooper clearly has something bugging him, I believe it is the fact he has copped critisism for his non-percentage plays at times, which in Union you get caught out in games like yesterdays/against Ireland. Benji Marshall, or even Carney to a certain extent, is very, very similar.
All I am saying when referring to the Super 15 is that alot of people haven't seen how good he can be..
