I remember him being the highlight of our home game against them:
1. Maloney pulled his shoe off and chucked it into the crowd so he had to hobble around with 1 shoe on (best move ever!!!)
2. He had a try disallowed and everybody was yelling 'NO MEANS NO!!!'
3. After that he scored at least one try where he scored then pretended to pull his fist our of his arse before giving Roosters fans and the cameras the bird.
Fergo is an awesome arch enemy. He's passionate, polarises people and always puts on a good show. I'm gonna miss him big time!
We won't know how much we miss Fergo until the season gets well underway. Last year he cut back his obligatory errors for the most part, repositioned his defence and had his best ever season with us. But now he has his contract, will he ever perform as consistently again? I think we made the right move for the youth coming through.
Like you, I'll miss him big time too. He had that X-factor in spades. Scored some miraculous tries with no room to move. Amazing balance for a big man. Had great hands in attack and instinctually knew the best route to the tryline. Fergo singelhandedly got us back into a 2015 final, against the Broncos, when we were being absolutely hammered at Suncorp. Destroyed his opposite number's first grade career in the process. I remember Freddie's half time comment that when you're in trouble give it to your best player.
Good memories mostly. But we also have two more than useful replacements with something to prove and the young speedster Bernard Lewis back in the ranks. I wish Fergo all the luck outside the Roosters games that is. Be interesting to see how he goes against us. If Hall is back and in the side, they are both the same size. Different body shapes but Hall is a great finisher too. And yes this thread has been about Brett Morris, who won't let us down either.

He played well for his first game back but compared to what he did for us all season last year, it wasn’t that good...it’ll be interesting to see

I remember the Morris boys old man Steve signing with the Roosters towards the end of his career- he would have been in his 30's too. I declared to my mates that he would be a flop.....and he went on to win Dally M winger of the year...... just another of my fearless predictions gone wrong

I think Morris will certainly add value to the club in 1 way or another.Yes Fergo was on fire last year but you just always sensed something bad off the field was just around the corner & certainly rumours have been circulating this off season. When i attended club functions i aslways found Fergo to be a bit of a kn@b who thought he was a bit above the fans (never rude just had that arrogant smirk). Also throw in the fact that he's never really been a consistent performer year after year says he may be a bloke who plays good to get that big contract.
I think we bought 2 guys ,1 on his last hurrah & another wanting to test himself for probably the price Fergo would have wanted in his new contract. Fergo would have been an Origin chance this year 2 so i think we have 2 players with us the whole year who are hungry.Morris is certainly a humble man, never in trouble on or off the field & with Origin,as well as Australian rep history i think he will be a calming influence for blokes like LM,Manu,Lewis etc.He is certainly someone they can look up to & learn from in all aspects of the game
