    This thread is classic..

Smith could put Jake at prop & wing at the same time,& Jake would make a good fist of it..

Does anyone here REALLY think that Jake will be moved from Hooker for an extended period at any stage of his career??..

The only way I see it happening is desperation, injuries or some boom young player forcing a re-shuffle. Shifting Jake really seems like the last of our problems.

Leave Friend where he is. Think he would play well at 6 but we would lose too much at 9

I would like to know how many line breaks he made this year.
Mini made 8 line breaks this season in 20 matches according to NRL stats.. If you want a shocking stat, consider this.. Mitchell Pearce; 2 line breaks in 21 matches.. Braith Anasta; 2 lb's in 24 matches.. truly horrendous for what is going to be our halves combo in 2012. Admittedly Braith played a lot of games in the back row but still it is unacceptable.

The much despised Rhys Wesser made 12 line breaks in 15 matches.. some people laugh when he is compared to Mini but this guy is like Usain Bolt in comparison.

Even Jeff Robson with 3 made more than Pearce lol..

PTB at least I asked a relevant question. Friend played 5/8 a few years ago, so I reckon it was relevant

He's good enough to play anywhere and give it a fair go, but he's a hooker and plays best there...

                Jake Friend

Jake Friend had lots of issues in 2009 which led him to being sacked by the Roosters.. since then Jake has turned his whole life around and hasn't done a single thing wrong and has concentrated on footy and he's easily our best player atm.. Do you guys think one day he'll be famous amongst the NRL and children in rugby league for being a role model the way he turned his life around and how to never give up on your dreams no matter what obstacles you come across?

Have you even noticed that no one likes you or cares what you say?

If you scroll down to the Smithy interview (given after the Shark's game), at 1:24 he talks about how hard Jake worked last off-season on his dummy-half skills specifically. It’s hard to believe the plan would be anything other than to consolidate on his performance in that role, though he obviously has the versatility to spend some part of a game at lock (or possibly slot into the halves in an emergency).

Personally I’d like to see Friend play a full 80 minutes at dummy-half in most games next year. We have such a deep roster of running forwards, it seems a waste not to pick four of them as a power-packed bench.

I'm sure he could but I think that he is on the cusp of becoming a great hooker, would be ridiculous to change him now
