  • Minor Positives

Pearce played pretty well again, his kicking game especially has improved the last two weeks. Too many inside balls still, but it must be the gameplan, theres no one most times outside ready to run onto the footy. Thats why its so disappointing, everyone but Blind Freddy can read the ploy, cos its all we basically do.

Maubs back. Defence was back on song and he just does the little things other more high profile blokes sometimes dont, like an old school lock. Leroy Brown would help also, hes the same IMO, we just play better with those two blokes.

Jones McRanga can play, great hands and defence. It would be good to see him in the 1/2s or at 9.

Tom Symonds could be anything, doesnt look overawed at the top level at all. That try he scored was a great effort.

BTW did Sa even play??? I didnt hear his name. Also Dove Shack, been very quiet since hes signed with The hEels.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

Tonight you could not fault the effort by the boys. they actually had a dig, even when behind and faught toget back in the lead.

they need to work on their urgency, there were times at the closing stages of the 2nd half when they strolled to the scrums rather than run and pack them quick.

there are many positives from tonight, pearce using his running to score and tries scored on the right side of attack rather than just the left.

Benny jones and Tommy Symmons had great games, the team look like they want to play as a team. But as i said, the urgency needs to be there, then they will win.

We were much better - looked do when we put the ball through the hands

We did let ourselves down the 10 minuted before halftime with stupid mistakes and very soft tries.

Was great to see Apollo back to his best, ran with real conviction tonight, Ogre was great, The Ranga kids were a breath of fresh air!!

A fit Cherro will be a great asset to the Roosters 2010 side

Indeed he will......infact there was not a lot that could be complained about tonight, except as Muzz said, the lack of urgency at times.......but the effort is definately showing.......

Our goal kicks cost us a lot.......it was after all 4 tires all, but it does help whent the tries are score from right infront....

I have been saying for the past 7 weeks that the roosters needed urgency and enthusiasim.

            Last week they showed improvement.

This week they showed Enthusiasim, but lacked the urgency

If we can put both together against the cows, we will go out with a win !!!!

Are you and Gab heading North Muzz......

I have a good feeling that if we can do what we did tonight, but a little bit more oomph, we can bring home the bacon.....

i posted this on another thread but i feel its more appropriate here, i believe if we sort these three things out we will on our way to a win....

story of the year - critical errors at critical times. this can be attributed to 3 main things

                1. fitness - our forwards are buggered by this time, not moving up as a group up to meet the attack, leaving holes in out defence, which teams expoilt.

                2. attitude/ heart - at this point, like Daley said tongiht we either give up, or get cocky. critical lapses in concentration leading to linebreaks, missed tackles, repeat sets and ultimatley tries. we start the game well or end well and then hit a brick wall, we cant go the full 80, just like our fitness. we needed that incident with braith for the team to show some heart.

                3. poor coaching - we cant get one rock solid team on the field, i.e the team always get changed every week, with one or two players out of position, swapping around etc. this screws up any combinations that have [b]been developing[b] or have formed, especially in the backline. this is not to mention players have been playing out of position for weeks - sa, perrett (at centre) etc.

it is the combination of these three things together that result in us loosing, weather its by 40 or 4. all 3 of these things have to be fixed for us to win. not just 1 or 2 of them, like the previous weeks.
