Yeah surely we have no money and it's just his team doing a beat-up to inflate his asking price while he stays in Brisbane? Probably wants to play Origin before contract negotiations or something.

That said, Cronk's leaving so if Keary and Lam work out as a partnership (for example) then we have $1 million for another marquee player. Having an extra enforcer would make Lam's job a lot easier if he's our long-term half.

Yeah I don't know how effective that is anymore. Isn't the nrl supposedly cracking down on front loaded and back ended contracts? I agree with their stance.

Would be great to get TPJ but I’m not holding my breath. Every time a big name player comes on the open market they are linked with us. It’s just speculation I reckon. It wouldn’t be this year anyway cause he is contracted to the Broncos for this year. I too think he will bide his time until Origin. What’s the hurry? If he keeps up the form he showed last game, he could name his price next contract. Just about every team in the NRL would be after him. I guess in saying that we are as good a chance as any. More than likely though I think he will stay with the Broncos. They have the money to keep him albeit possibly the loss of Glenn to help keep them under the cap.
