  • Good game but still wouldn't trade Morris, Toops or Hall for him that's for sure.

I didn't want him to play last night either, I thought his confidence would be shot. An amazing turnaround.

Was it "stoopid" to give Steve Mavin "shyte" as well?

. Imagine how much pressure he was under last night, in his 6th game at age 25. Sure he is a fill in measure, and sure he will make mistakes again, but that performance last night is one he can be proud of. Imagine how proud his family is. It must have been a long journey with many setbacks to finally make first grade, and I am sure plenty of people would have given up. That's what you want in a player, and it's great to see.
          It was.

Unbelievable performance. I could not be happier to be WRONG!

            • Glad Matt turned it around - equally important is the message Trent sent to the extended playing squad and that he will give them every chance if they put the work in to establish their NRL career at our club.

              • I think Corey Oates made 6 errors last night. Sort of puts Ikavalu's bad night last week in perspective.

You keep up with your predictions, as you are seldom right. Like a lucky charm for the team.

                    • Eh, I wish the young bloke all the best. Lets have some perspective though, he played a blinder against a team that couldn't play any worse.

I'll reserve final judgement for now, but I want him gone.

                          • I’m pleased for Ikavalu. And also support him to incrementally improve and believe in himself

I also question the turn turn around on here. Is it that he scored a try?
he caught all the kicks differected at him with ease and confidence. He hit the ball up strongly without the thrust of the better players.

he has mistakes in him and two key defensive errors last night where he misread.

                            • Much better performance from Matt, and good on the bloke for keeping his head up and staying focused on the job he needed to do last night, rather than dwell on the week before.

How bad was Oates last night! He's generally pretty solid but I've noticed if he stuffs up early, the mistakes keep coming. I seem to recall another match against us where he was similarly shyte. Not that the other Broncs winger Osako was any better - he carried on his horror performance from last week against the DragQueens.

                              • Yeah, no doubt we were good, but the Broncs were horrible. Bombed maybe 5 tries.
