Earlier in the year I said that if a team were to beat us, they wouldn’t win the week after, as they would expend too much energy and not be able to back it up.

It seems the opposite is also true.

The team we have beaten has gone on to win the following week. When they get tested by the best, they then can play to an elevated level. Raising the benchmark.

For all the punters / tipsters out there, with the exception of the first game.. it has proven right.

Only time will truly tell.

i hope any team who beats us, loses the next week.i love the fact we are that hard nut team, who exhaust physically, mentally and hopefully spiritually. kill em all i say.

Agreed mate. I don't want us to fall into a sense of false security after bagging a few wins:
- Brisbane had off-season dramas and were way off their game and without Roberts + Fensom (this causes a lot of related positional changes... other than Fifita I hadn't heard of any of their bench players... you add in Roberts and suddenly the bench is Fifita, Staggs, Fensom and Su'a).
- Parra woulda beaten us if Fergo didn't cough the ball up on his line. Massive facepalm there for Fergo!
- Manly finished well and woulda beaten us if given another 10 minutes.

I know we had injuries and stuff too (Latrell at 5/8, Morris & Hall out, JWH & Friend out...etc) but we're not playing premiership winning footy right now. To be expected this early in the year but we're gonna have to lift big time if we wanna go anywhere this season.

I'd rather us not playing our best footy early in the season and winning though . Some of us are hard to please. . I Farking loved smashing the Drongos Thursday night that was brilliant . Last season our early form was crap and look how that turned out ?!
