We have great young forwards, but the opposition will compress their defense, our backline will be too useless to get around the compressed defense, and our forwards will get belted. Our forwards might rise to the occasion for a few weeks but will eventually get injured or go stale.

1 to 7 played better in the last few rounds, as did the forwards.
There is hope, we'll just have to see if the same energy/same form continues in 2012 in the games that matter...starting with Souths.
There's no one to blame now, only the players who take the field and their coaches.
Hopefully that "heaving training the day before games" nonsense has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

I now need to go and gleefully skip along the grass whilst holding hands with other roosters supporters as we look forward to a certain premiership next year.

Dice - as you seem to well understand most of us Roosters supporters can only be optimistic pessimists most of the time. What you said about our backline is true. I wish it wan't but this year something was certainly missing - speed, creativity, individual brilliance, cohesion. Some blame Carney, others Pearce, others Smith and then there is always Mini and BJ. I don't know the answer but I am hopeful that next year will be better. With BJ in the centres, Moga in the wing and a stable 5/8 (I can't believe I just wrote that) things may get better. Hopefully the winger we have signed Penigave or whatever his name is adds something too. However, as you say bookmakers are not stupid so we have a long way to go.

I can't wait to see how Tagive goes.
His defence is a worry..
But he's very quick and agile (should be our fastest) and exactly what we need on the wing. Can also run over the top of players... I think it was against Wesser (lol) this year he just ran directly into him, brushed him off and lost no momentum as he scored.
