If carney stays the tirade will continue ... I believe you are correct , however I dont think for one second that the tirade will cease now that Carney has gone.

If this was a factor in releasing Carney it was a pointless reason. Was it not after the last game against the storm that somebody on here posted that Rothfield had blogged ... asking the NRL to look at a JWH tackle that left a storm player with an injury.

The agenda from news will continue.

Ever since the war the only time news seemed to be relaxed against the chooks was when Stuart was coach, guessing that had something to do with his ties to News LTD

But he's very quick and agile (should be our fastest) and exactly what we need on the wing. Can also run over the top of players... I think it was against Wesser (lol) this year he just ran directly into him, brushed him off and lost no momentum as he scored.
      Tagive haha - I wan't even close!

Well his name is Peni Tagive lol so you were close in a strange way.

Good scope for banners too but they might not be able to get into the stadium lol

If what PWN says is correct it is all the more reason why the Roosters cannot afford to have any 'weak links' like Carney and Myles in their squad as they just become a target.

Yes it's a shame that some players are more protected than others but we have to accept the fact that the club needs to be careful in the assessing the persona and attitude of any player they sign. It's very simple and works for Melbourne and a few other clubs - a 'no dickhead' policy.

A bloke of Carney's arrogance and self centredness was easy meat for the likes of Rothfield. Give him a little praise, get him into a comfort zone where he thinks he is untouchable and then move in for the kill. And of course Carney didn't have the brains and nouse to realise he was being manipulated and his arrogance meant he refused listen to anyone who tried to point out the bleeding obvious and give him a few hints to deal with the situation.

I now need to go and gleefully skip along the grass whilst holding hands with other roosters supporters as we look forward to a certain premiership next year.
            Point proven.

Too many people mistake cynicism for unique intelligence.

I wish it wan't but this year something was certainly missing - speed, creativity, individual brilliance, cohesion. Some blame Carney, others Pearce, others Smith and then there is always Mini and BJ. I don't know the answer but I am hopeful that next year will be better. With BJ in the centres, Moga in the wing and a stable 5/8 (I can't believe I just wrote that) things may get better. Hopefully the winger we have signed Penigave or whatever his name is adds something too. However, as you say bookmakers are not stupid so we have a long way to go.
I am not a BJ fan. He is too immobile to be out any wider than the 2nd row. I hope I am wrong.

We can take it, though it would be nice if we caught them out and sued the **** out of them!

The Dally M he received last year.

I recall at the time Carntey picked up some big pts at the end of the season when from memory many of us thought he wasn't the best player on the field in those games.

I believe you've hit it with that post NC.

Don't think the news ltd phone hacking scandal is confined just to the UK. Some of the tell-you-crap journos are feeling very worried at the moment.

There may well be a fair amount of substance to the Green's "hate media" reference to the News Limited papers.
