  • Terrible comment aside from Past Glory, I would be interested to know why Lui gets half a page about 4 pages in from the back when a night on the grog between 3 guys where no laws are broken and nobody gets assualted warrants such saturation coverage.

Agendas anybody....agendas?? Get your agendas at the Telegraph, going cheap, cheap agendas at the Telegraph!

The fact Tony has failed to address the real issue speaks volumes, he knows its inidefensible on this occassion hence his attempt to defelct from the original post.

Yes he harps on about it instead of the main issue but at least you can acknowledge it's wrong and then continue to the main issue.
Geo i don't condone racism, but Lui deserves the label IMO..

I wouldn't be offended to be called a "white caarnt",so i struggle to see why the reverse is true..

It is political correctness gone mad IMO..

      A spade is a spade..no pun intended..

      • When was the last time you saw someone use the term 'white cnt' ..

Remember the legal issues Chris has to deal with constantly, do we need to add more fuel to the fire? Is it too hard to just not say it?

If that was your sister or someone you know, you would be calling them alot worse than what Past Glory did.

I played all my junior footy in the lol@50uf$$ juniors and was called it countless times..

But that is beside the point..

I agree the comment could be taken in an offensive manner..IF taken out of context..

As seems to be the case with most racism issues..

What is incredible is the way you have latched on to one comment in order to justify your existance. it's funny, before that comment by PG, you had very little to say on this subject (approx 8.5 pages had passed before your first dribble laiden post), i guess it's hard to defend the un defendable, even when you work for them.

Seriously, pull your head from your arse. i am defending someone who i know personally as someone who is willing to back up his comments and has more integrity than yourself.

Why don;t you get buzz to write an article on it, i am sure he has had plenty of practice at sensationalisim. Just tell buzz that PG is a Roosters fan and i am sure he will be more than happy to write defamitory articles and start a campaign against PG.

Future of Wests Tigers star Robert Lui in doubt after halfback plays knockout without permission

Last week Lui was charged by police with assaulting partner Taleah Backo after three straight days of post-season celebrations with Tigers teammates.

Club officials agreed for Lui to return to Queensland and be comforted by family and friends ahead of his October 7 court hearing.

But rather than keep a low profile, Lui took part in the inaugural Queensland Murri league carnival on the Gold Coast and inspired the Southern Dingoes to a 44-24 final victory over Purga Wagtails.

The three-day drug and alcohol-free carnival, organised by former Maroons great Tony Currie - and endorsed by the ARL and QRL - involved 20 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teams and featured NRL players Chris Sandow, Dane Gagai and Yileen Gordon, and former star Nathan Blacklock.

The incident disappointed Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys, who was with Lui until 3am last Tuesday at Burwood Police Station, and he is keen for the 21-year-old to give an explanation when he returns.

"We have stood him down, so we were surprised he played in the tournament because the idea of him going to Queensland was to have some private time with family members," Humphreys said.

"We were made aware he was playing on Sunday, but he didn't seek our approval before doing so. We'll have a chat with him about it at some point. It won't be this week.

"I was surprised and disappointed, but maybe he had some encouragement from friends and family members to play.

"Whether we would have approved (his involvement) is a hypothetical, so I'd rather not speculate."

The Tigers have stood Lui down from all club activities and will await the outcome of his court hearing before deciding on his future.

Currie said Lui had played well for the Southern Dingoes, a team which also featured Lui's brother, but was unaware he would take part beforehand.

Southern Dingoes coach Selwyn Apanui said he was unaware Lui had not sought a clearance from the Tigers.

"He really wasn't pressured or questioned about any of the other issues, he was happy to play footy and enjoy the company of his brother and his mates," Apanui said.

                      • So the News Ltd lackie reckons it's OK to bash women but not OK for someone to call the basher a black f***k if he happens to be indigenous?

I wonder if he'd be so moralistic and up in arms if it was a caucasion who happened to bash a woman and was then called a white f**k. Somehow I doubt it.

Domestic violence is excuseable, no matter what race or colour the perpetrator is. And anyone who bashes their partner deserves to be called the worst that can be said about anyone. PG just put into words what most of us were thinking if true be told.

If truth be told, I never once connected Lui's race to his crime.

PG probably didn't either, but unfortunately, you can't throw around black this and black that in todays world. To sit back and claim there wouldn't be an issue if it was white this, white that is naive. Racism isn't an egalitarian concept with the same sensitivities on both sides of the equation, because for the most part, racial prejudice has only ever been a one way street.

TOK is a farkwit, sure, but as he said - other black people would take offence to the term "black carnt" being thrown around.

Apart from that, I agree with the sentiment. Regardless of whether you're black, white or fuucking green, you hit a woman, you're scum.

The fact that the Telecrap finds Carney 'hitting' a club more newsworthy and scandalous than Lui hitting his girlfriend speaks for itself.

                                Absolutely spot on!
There is no need for the colour of the skin to be raised. Lui is scum - plain and simple. I would never refer to the colour of anyone's skin no matter what they've done. He is disgusting, revolting, foul scum for hitting a woman TWICE in 12 months. The colour of his skin is neither here nor there from my point of view. And unfortunately when people revert to racist descriptions it does deflect from the issue at heart - which is he is SCUM!
As for Antonio the wheely-bin, he is deafeing in his silence about whether he thinks it is appropriate that the Telecrap finds Carney's drinking more deplorable and newsworthy than someone hitting his girlfriend and mother of his child TWICE??
