I personally don’t think you are getting worked up over nothing. I too have real concerns for his long term health and career. It would be a tragedy to lose his immense talent to our team but also the game. I don’t know why it is but I would say there isn’t another player who has had as many head knocks in the last 12 months or so. I think if players like Joey Johns and guys in other contact sports and the effects of many concussions causing epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease later in life. I just hope this doesn’t happen to Luke. Maybe he should consider wearing headgear. It would provide some protection.

I like the idea of a mandatory week off for a player who fails a HIA test.

At what age do headgears stop becoming compulsory in under age competitions? In cricket all juniors have to wear helmets. Maybe the same rules should apply with headgears for league.

Keary has a 5 step process to go through, each stage is ~24 hours apart so if he fails any stage he won't make it for Thursday, if he's named on Tuesday he hasn't failed a stage and would be very likely to play.

I am also worried about Keary. I remember him getting a concussion in his first season with us and missing a few games and coming back he coped another one which went unnoticed and they left him on but he was out of it . I have been worried about him in this regard since then - seems very prone to these. These injuries really have the ability to cut careers short. Elton Flatley for the wallabies comes to mind. I hope he doesn’t play tbh.
