I actually really like Anthony Griffin at the Broncs, a no nonense bloke who seems to have a feel for his players. But the Broncs won't be keen to let him go in a hurry.
And ultimately, Elliott and Taylor are management signings, not Smith's. Smith can recommend, but the ultimate decisions lie with NP and his cronies. The same people who signed Smith.
So your problem should be with management, who keep signing these so called 'duds'. Don't shoot the messenger Fred, aim a little higher than that.

I never liked noyce from the beginning either - he's another failure.

I'd love to get either bellamy or hasler - they are the two best of the current crop after bennett.
But that wont happen unfortunately.
So why bang on about what we have???
I'm not in total disagreement mate, I have seen the limitations with what we have, both in the coaching and playing ranks. But constant criticism without any credible solutions becomes bloody boring mate.
I guess we can only hope for a miracle.

You know it makes sense.

As NC says, Smith is far better than most of the duds the club has signed over the past decade. He is just what we need at this stage of our development. A coach who can teach the young players skills and the basics about playing in the top grade. He is a good tactical coach and when allowed to do his job without interference is a strong disciplinarian - something the club needs badly! We need to clean up our off-field image and change the perceived culture of the club. Next year is about playing consistently, no off-field crap and forming the basis for the future. Smithy is the man to do that!

You always harp on about the issues, but don't provide any logical and realistic solutions. And believe me Bellamy, Hasler or Bennett are not going to happen.
So let's hear some realstic suggestions from you as to who you think should be our next coach, taking out the unobtainable.

Just decent consistent performances, not being down the bottom would help as well. Not much to ask for. We have the players.

I never used to be a Smith fan - hated him when he was at the Dragons and Parramatta. But my respect for him grew at Newcastle. Those idiots employed him to clean the joint out and then shafted him when he did what they wanted him to do. I also respect him enormously for not rising to the level of those who constantly criticise him in the media and rugby league community. He copped an absolute hammering from Hadley when he was at Parramatta and most of it was just a personal vendetta, but he acted with character throughout it all.
