Crichton has taken over the role that Ricko and Fitzy used to have. He is rock solid in defence and has a bit of attacking flair. I love the Harlem Globetrotter but he's still finding his way.

Here we go R6 at it again. Thinking he knows better than Trent Robinson.

I don't understand why anyone is questioning Crichton's value in this team. I think he been excellent each week he plays.
I love having him and Cordner as 80 minute second rowers as it gives Robbo so much more flexibility for the bench use.
Angus will be playing SOO, so the young new first-graders will get their chance to show what they are made of....

I am with you PTB, souffs needed Crichton to be an attacking weapon. With us he plays the role of an 80 min solid hard working backrower which he is doing well

Gus is doing just fine. Playing 80 minutes and great defender. His attacking prowess will improve over time. He played plenty of minutes on the wing on Sunday due to injuries, which says plenty for his versatility. He has been shifted around during games, which makes it hard to develop combinations.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

will come in handy when Cordner is on origin duty, hopefully we see his worth then.

Well I'm right with you on that. Has that raw-boned look. He just needs to buy an outsized pair of shoulder pads - like those 1980's suits that resembled wardrobes - and he'll have the Hughie look down pat.

I've always liked him and how he can run great lines and spot holes the defensive line. But I was also worried about his weight and upper body, like Kane Evans. He's muscled up on that. His front on defense is now much improved and even when he got bumpred off last week, he slid down and held on. It's a mark of his mental toughness.

I think he can go all the way and what a great prospect coming off the bench against tired forwards.

He hasn’t been playing well enough to get a blues jersey.. but he probably will, since he’s playing with a winning team and in the chance that Reynolds gets the NSW halfback gig
                      ..it’ll be interesting to see

Cam Murray,Radley,Aubo, matterson, pangai, hass,Jackson should all be ahead of him for the bench spot.

He's getting paid a lot more than a solid hard working backrower.

Mitchell Aubusson could be that if its what was required. I can't imagine Robinson and the clubbed shelled out the type of coin they did for a no frills player, they'll want more from him no doubt in the world.

                            Absolutely.

Robbo to Gus: "Listen here Gus, I don't want you making any line breaks or trying any offloads and don't you dare do any try assists, we are only paying you to run hard and tackle. Don't under any circumstances do what you did at Souths the last couple years. We don't want you to be an attacking threat. Just be a battering ram."

I agree with this part. In a world with no salary cap, it probably wouldn't matter too much, however when we are going to struggle to hold on to some of our other talent due to limited salary cap space, it is worth questioning if the role Angus plays, justifies his coin. I have always thought that you should never pay big money to backrowers, unless they have something special like SBW or Kikau etc. I would be willing to bend this for someone like Cordner to a degree. He hits the ball up each time like he is playing for his life and is so inspirational in the way he plays. I don't see this yet with Angus and I struggle to think that Matto wouldn't have done the job just as well, if not better from what I have seen this year on approximately half the coin, or even Aubo as suggested.

What I don't agree with is that we should be starting a 5 game rookie in order to allow Gus, an origin player to ease his way in from the bench. What we should be asking if Gus can show more from the starting spot. I have said this before and I will say it again, I would hate to lose Latrell and Sitili because we gave $750K or so to a backrower, in order to stick it up to Souths.

That might be true, but Robbo's not keen on offloading.

Personally I'm happy with Gus. Not easy to come into a premiership winning team and be yourself from the get go.

He's scored a couple of tries that weren't gimmes and there's nothing wrong with having both second rowers as 80 min solid hard workers. Gus is capable of a bit more flair than he's showed, but he's been solid. But sure, nothing wrong with him progressing his attack a bit!
