There's a level of authenticity, respect, loyalty and intelligence that I don't think I've seen before with any official/or commentator involved with Rugby League. Kent and Ikin are like two schoolboys watching the teachers every word.

And I've loved this game and team for a long time.

I'm still a bit in awe....where does this guy end up?
As a Kiwi I fear the worst

He will forever widen the gap between the Roo's & the rest as Australian coach

must be a few kiwi members of the chookpen, yea if robbo became aussie coach , we would be in trouble, hell why dont the kiwis call him out when madge finishes ? for robbo to become best ever, he simply has to back 2 back this year, then yea he is definitley making ground on gibson, bennett, bellamy despite some massive asteriks in the latter 2 records. namely systematic, flagrant cheating at the storm ( illegally ) and systematic, flagrant, cheating at the broncos ( legally ) circa 92 - 00 . salary sombrero there anyone ? damn wish panthers had won 92 but ben died, and raiders won in 93 before ricky broke his leg.

I hope so too, but Bellyache is ahead of him atm in my books.

Comparing Robbo's record to the first half dozen years of other coaches, he's in a group that includes Sheens, Bennett, Gould, Bellamy and Hasler.

Bellamy has it over Bennett in getting his teams to perform consistently at the highest level, while Bennett has it over Bellamy in getting his teams up for the big games (better record in GFs and SOO).

Time will tell how Robbo compares to Bellamy and Bennett, but so far so good.

With Keary out for 6 weeks, it will be a big window for Brock Lamb to showcase his abilities with this team (if he gets the five-eighth spot).
He will have Cronk there as a partner and mentor.
A big opportunity for him, hope he takes it with both hands.

That’s why I have been posting for a while now that Robbo will coach the Roosters for as long as he wants. Not only are the players in awe of him but so is Nick.

Unfortunately for us, if he wants to be considered as the best ever he’ll need to try his luck at other, lesser clubs at some stage.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Unless his aim isn't to be considered 'the best ever' but to do a job for the Roosters.

                    That's the Roosters way ...

bellamy has only coached the storm, bennett had a questionable record at the knights. so why should robbo have to leave us to be considered great ?

Fair enough. But to be the undisputed, it makes sense...

Bellamy was a loser when it came to coaching his other team - the Blues

Robbo didn't fare badly with lesser teams in Europe

I would consider the chooks a lesser team when we almost won wooden spoon not long ago....with him?

i hate bellamy , but i respect him. i dont thinkany coach in the world couldve coached a nsw team to beat that qld team of about 07 to 12 , i dont think it denegrates his record. it carries as much weight as bennett coaching a qld team to premierships in 92/93 and 97/98 in a club comp ie - none whatsoever. if robbo coaches b2b this year, his stock is rising very well, he is already in the upper echelon of coaches.
