  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Panthers

It’s been a dour two weeks having to wait to see our team make up for two poor performances. Today is our opportunity to get back on track. Down on troops won’t be an excuse. Let’s hope goal kicking doesn’t decide the result. We still have plenty of good players.

    Go Roosters!

Looking at the squads and that we are playing at Riff I say we are a 50/50 chance. SST hasn't been slotting the goals this year. The WCC comes to mind. Our defence has to lift for us to win this one

To bad we weren't playing them a month ago. Now they are 2 from 2.

No bay mate it’s the grass behind the posts. Just look out for the 60 year old grannies and not the twenty two year old grannies and they will be The Roosters supporters.

Not such a great form line if you look who they beat. But yes of course they will be up for it against the premiers.

Any chance of either Hall and Verrills getting another shot today? If Hall comes in it allows Maubs to move back to the 2nd row. He was supposed to be cover for origin right. If Robbo doesn't play him now than I wonder if he will play him again

Iku was centre of the year in reserves last year so maybe he could handle the step up in first grade. With Jarred and Angus out we really need Maubs in the pack. Sadly we need to watch Collins again. His attempted tackle on Watson when he scored that run away try was pure embarrassment. Showed zero commitment. Faama is a much better option.

Looking forward to seeing Butcher play long minutes - hopefully 80.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Sea Eagles are no easy beats.

Penriths attack looks a lot better without Cleary.

Don't be surprised to see Luai and Maloney have big games today. Katoa out of the starting side is a big improvement for them too.

                            Stat Attack

The Panthers are the most penalised team in the competition. They can't afford to continue that trend against a current top-four side.

Lets see if this stat stays true.

Win or lose the Chooks will still be sitting in 3rd place.
It could go either way this game. Go the Roosters.
