New baby or not, he needs to actually play some decent footy in 2012 or he'll find himself of the footballing scrapheap and his career will be over before it really began.

At the moment he is nothing more than an injury prone myth.

Couldn't disagree more regarding the special treatment, our club has stuck by a lot of clubmen in the past 5 or so years including Mini & Braith who a lot of supporters couldn't care less if they left. There's been a massive push towards building a strong and loyal culture in the past few years. Sticking with Friend through his dramas and Cherrington through his injuries is just an example of this it's no exception it's becoming the status quo if anything.

Ricko's on the board, Fitzy on the coaching team we're not the club we used to be and anyone with the same amount of talent, dedication and love for this football club as Cherrington would be receiving exactly the same treatment.

Sometimes it doesn't work out but sometimes it does and in a dire season you get a young nuggety hooker who plays his heart out every game, wins player of the season and restores some pride amongst the supporters when he tells them he never wants to leave.

Well said 6. This stuff takes time but a strong culture is critical for any ongoing success.

All good points but a bit harsh. Cheer up old girl.

Showing loyalty and committment to a player like Cherro, even though he has produced sfa, shows those players that are producing that if they get injured putting their cut tattoed little bodies on the line each and every week we'll look after them. Cherro is a local junior by the way, even more cause to show some patience.

Even if he turns out to be half as good as most pundents say, he'll be worth it in the long run.

            Chook.

I remember Cherro was a realllly exciting player when he burst on the scene, massive, excellent attacker and offloading freak in the SBW mould.. Had some trouble with lazy defence tho. If he's injury free he'd be great on the bench.

Probably in Taka's spot tho they're probably too similar.

Anthony Cherrington is a "VERY GOOD" footy player. Injury free he will prove this fact 2 all u that think anything less. Some posting rubbishing him R clearly of those who know very little of his past. So 2 all those people I say give this guy a chance. He is a STAR & will give his best 4 the Sydney Rooster. Provided Brian Smith gives him the opportunity & the football Gods keep in favor, he will deliver in 2012.

                            Cherro is a massive talent.

But, in racehorse terms, he isn't "sound". He has chronic issues but I really hope they can be managed and we get to see him get through the season once he makes his return.

Taka isn't in the same street talent-wise but he is improving all the time, granted.

Hope Brian Smith showcase the next-Gen of young player in 2012. As Broncos have for years been a club best @ unveiling exciting new players that go on 2 make names 4 themselves & play @ the highest levels. With the talent posses on our 2012 player roster,it should warrant an opportunity 4 these prospective guys. And without under strengthening the quality of 1st grade team each week. Given the game time & taste of NRL each of these players, all be it success/failure will in turn drive those individual 2perform @ a higher level in retaining/ achieving a top spot. The fans love seeing new calibre of player.

Do u guys think he is much of the muchness as Todd Carney in that he is a troubled individual? What rumoured move by a No.1 from Manly? Or that before that of Josh Dugan signing a long term deal @ same time as he signed his last Canberra Raider exten.???
