Yes. And the club would not buy another 5/8th if Anasta was going to stay in the halves.

      Anasta is still my thought.
Either Smith goes or he does.
Smith will be given next year to achieve or go.
Anasta prolly isn't willing to chance the wait & spend another year all over the field.

At first I thought Pearce was the senior player and Smith was making contingency plans with Mortimer. But now I'm thinking it could be the other way round with Anasta thinking it's going to be 2011 all over again for him.

If I was Anasta I would not be happy. We all know he is not as good as a fit/clear-headed Todd Carney. However, he is clearly better than Daniel Mortimer. Our forward pack is awesome with so many good players ready to fight for their place in the 17. Anasta can not be one of those forwards. He is at the club. He is part of the team. That considered the only place for him is No. 6. The whole way this time. Let the bloke concentrate on playing 6. Give him the off season and let him know the position is his to keep for 2012. If Anasta is not 5/8 then we need to let him go. I would take him over Mortimer anyday.

This isn't a go at you MR, it's something I've wanted to lob for a while.

Did anyone watch last season??? Bwaiff had his best year in our colours, from the back row. It worked.

All I keep hearing is how he doesn't want to go into the pack, or how it upsets the balance of the squad.

              IMO that's a crock.

Players should play where they're told, where the coach deems best for the team.

And we made a GF and Bwaiff looked like a leader of men finally.

Of course what got us going was speed and natural talent in the 6. This year the same bloke was either injured or too pea hearted to have a go.

I've never been a Bwaiff fan. But the bloke earned my respect last season. He lost the poolander stare and developed the eye of the tiger.

I don't blame him or anyone but the 6 for this season. That carnt was a disgrace. I saw our team defend like demonds on many occasions only to see the 6 step aside and let someone waltz thru the heads untouched. Fark that softcock mental fudge packer.

So many so called critics, many from within the supporter group, reacted to Carnteys signing the same way they are to Mortimers supposed signing. We are in a win - win situation here again.

Fark me some of you are frustrating arsemonkeys.

              All my love you twats.

                  I dig mate.

It's just all the knobs who say Bwaiff can't play in the forwards, I mean did they watch their pubes grow last season???

We need some speed in the 1, 6, 7, 9 spots.

For some reason they think Mini has some so he ain't going nowhere unfortunately.

Pearceorfjack has speed over 100, he just has no zip, and they ain't gonna replace him, the lower grades are full of fast goobers.

Friend while not lightning on his feet is lightning between the ears, I wouldn't swap him for anyone.

That leaves Bwaiff. He has no pace. But hes a good captain and smart used like last season on that short edge. It worked.

IMO we should have a go at Mortimer. I've seen Smiff work miracles with that exact sort of player before, you know like Carntey. We have zip to lose.

                  Let's roll the dice again.

                    ^^^^ +1.
What have we got to lose? Not as if we have title on the line, is it?

With Braith, we are assured mediocrity.

With Mortimer, at least we'd have a chance of something more.

Braith is not going to experience a Renaissance. I'd love nothing more than to be proved wrong, because the guy bleeds Easts, but he isn't going to miraculously hit a golden period. He has showed us what he's got, and it isn't much.

I would take Mortimer over Anasta. Not because he's a better player. But because he might be.

I'll tell you what we have to lose. Smith is a stubborn son of a bitch and refuses to believe his plans have not worked. By the time he gives up we are screwed. For example, B.J on the wing, Koups at Hooker, Piggy ****ing Riddell. I can see him putting Mortimer in week in, week out while our season goes down the drain.

No I'm with you on this STSAE. I've gone on record that we should sign Mortimer. I'm just going off speculation that Braith doesn't want to play in the forwards. I am concerned that him in the forwards will deprive our young up and coming forwards of a spot though. I'm also a Smithy fan and give him the right to choose whichever team he wants especially as his job is probably on the line next year.

All good MR. Sorry if it came across like I was having a go at your opinion, not my intention mate. Just yours was the post I replied to, could've been many others in the past week or so.

I see your point of Bwaiff in the forwards, stopping a younger players progression. But I reckon with injuries, rep footy and form loss we can use him in that role. I wouldn't be surprised to see Maubs back in the centers often next season.

Have to agree with you there, and I doubt another club would pay either of them the sort of money they must be on at the Roosters.

Smith loves FPN but if it was him I say bye, bye now.
Perrett no way. Ryles and Smith are tight. Mini wouldn't care too much now so late in his career and Braith? I actually think Braith and Smithy were getting on well these past few months so I doubt it very much. And if it is Braith, who cares!
Rothfield is full of it. What's amusing is that he says this time he'll put his hand on the bible. So does that mean all the other times he's bagged out Smith and the Roosters he was telling porkies?
Without Braith we have no five eighth for next year, so I for one care.
