I think taking the moral high ground in professional rugby league can be a very stupid stance to take.

im not saying be a grubby club or team, be a smart team.

Referees are easily manipulated., they are vulnerable to pressure. Bellamy is THE master of this and I laud him for it.
The refereeing last weekend was horrendous.

canterbury were given a leg up.
melbourne got a lot of help.
    tackles being too “rough”?//

melbourne helped bring in the 8 point try, wrestling in tackles, the chicken wing tackle etc.. a very creative bunch of bastards no wonder NewsCorp were so proud of them?

The video ref did his best to rectify any imbalance from the refs in that game. That Shaun Johnson try was clearly a knock on.

The Thing is the Storm went into the GF last year with all their Queensberry rulles in tact and it back fired on them as our blokes went to play football..and that wins in the end ...and wouldve on the weekend if not for a few clumsy plays.

No doubt the refs seem to be intimidated by Cam Smith. Kind of surprising as looking at him last weekend, he was very disrespectful to the refs. I know the young ref marched him 10 early in first half, but after that the refs acted like they owed him.

I've seen games where repeated ruck infringements get someone binned, but the other night the refs just gave up and put the whistle away.

Smith was marched 10 early for asking whether this was a stitch up or not. He bought some credit there and got repaid.

But the acting was World's Championship Wrestling style for the penalty. He may as well have punched himself on the chin too. Radley looked a bit slow to react to it all. May not have realized his field position?

I was glad to hear Geoff Toovey on controversy corner have a whinge about Smith’s milking of the penalty and highlighted how refs are conned by his actions and said it should’ve been a penalty the other way as smith was striking Radley’s head .
