    Let me elaborate a little
I’ve had personal dealings with a many Polynesian, Kiwi and Indigenous players.

you cannot categorise each and all together.

It is my belief, when talking in terms of player welfare that clubs need to re-examine the normal rules for players from Indigenous backgrounds.
even if they grew up in the city(and I agree that these young men are more battle hardened to city living), they will, identify with other regional brothers once they reach grade.

if and hadn’t had the experiences that I have had, I may have been more cynical.
They are a gentle and spiritual people and have every reason to mistrust “white men”
This isn’t because guys like you and me don’t deserve to be trusted.
its because footy clubs and coaches by and large care about results not about the welfare of players.
all the clubs and coaches talk about honour and respect etc but not many of the leaders in rugby league act in a way that resembles this.
They smell,a hypocrite a mile away and they loathe them silently
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Fukking leeches. Hillsong probably stole all the money he had left, gave him a bible and said 'we're so generous we're gonna put your number on our list of tradies so you can earn $1500 a week minus a 20% tithe mowing lawns for our congregation'. Vultures!

True story, a guy at an old workplace (who got moved on) is like 70 and has earned ~$115k a year for like 40 years. He cried and had this massive 'God will punish you' rant when he got moved on because he still has like 60% owing on his (pretty modest) mortgage coz like... 70%+ of his pay has gone to some fukking Pentecostal church. They even took his super (a generous defined benefit that they convinced him to take as a lump sum).
2005 nearly 15 years ago, I doubt he is mowing lawns for profit anymore and going to Hillsong either.

Remember the news about 18 months ago in which at 43 years of age he nearly played for the ACT Brumbies in the Super Rugby Competition.

This is more recent (this year) but it is probably not all he does, coaching Rugby at a private school with another former Wallaby who had an ill fated rugby league stint with the South Queensland Crushers, Garrick Morgan.

Downlands College is delighted to expand its rugby coaching staff this year, welcoming ex-Wallaby, Mr Andrew Walker and experienced coach, Mr Graham Herlihy
