  • After rd17 TY vs LY

After Rd 17 last year we were in 5th position on 22 points, the same wins, same losses and almost identical +/- yet we went on to win the MP and the GF.
As long as we can string some wins together then I am willing to trust the process and still Trust in Trent to get the boys up for the back end of the year.
the most notable difference is the Storm is way out in front but we can definitely clinch a top 2 position.

Good stuff nayfo. You'd think the storm have the MP wrapped up so the Roosters would appear to by vying for second spot at best. The one good thing about winning the minor premmy (aside from the 100K prize money ) is that if the Roosters make the GF and they meet the storm, the Roosters get to wear their traditional jersey rather than the away jersey.

Guess we are wearing the away jersey then.

That's how it's looking rented, if the Roosters can get their act together.

I have a feeling the knoughts are in for a hiding this weekend at least.

It should be us and them again with a possible dark horse being the Faiders or Knaughts. Honestly, in the past 6-7 years, there havnt been two more dominant teams. Others have won but have they have not been consistently towards the top end of the comp like us and the Drizzle.

We're no certainties to make the GF, but neither are the Storm. Like 2 years ago, they've got the MP in the bag, but they're not as good a team this year. They might find it hard to switch from being so far ahead in the round robin that they can declare to adjusting to the intensity of finals footy. There's a few teams who could go down there week 1 of the finals and do a job on them.

We're not certainties, but if we can play to potential we'll go alright.

We may need to beat the Storm to get to the GF, let alone win it. And being a dominant team throughout the season means nothing once it comes finals time. All it takes is 1 off night and your season is done and dusted. Which has happened to the Chooks more than once the past few years.

Very true and once finals time starts, its anyones race but pretty much the top four sides so far this year are pretty much in a league of their own.

It will be interesting to see if the Faiders can maintain their current good position.

                    Same result, very different journey.

Last year we started the season extremely slow. This season we were on fire. Last year we were building into the back half of the year, this year we are struggling to keep it together.

How much does momentum matter? How many weeks do you really need to build to your peak?

Although we should take some comfort in knowing we have already got it done from here.

Would've been a boring season if we just won it without having to face some adversity. Bring on the joy and tears over the next few months, I'm excited!

Personally, I'd like to win every game by 60, up by 30 at half time.

Momentum? Depends. If we have no injuries/suspensions for the rest of the round robin I'd be disappointed if we drop more than a couple of games.

We're the Roosters and this is our premiership.
