    Excellent news.

We get Flanagan and the Sharks are stuck with the primadona Shaun Johnson.

Not a fan of this signing at all... Haven't seen a half in years that couldn't pass the ball left to right. Last one was Steve Mortimer. Over rated.

I’m glad we’ve signed him. Gives us a solid option until Sam Walker is ready for the rigours of first grade.

The report is from June 22nd and it states that they're unclear how long Flanagan has signed for.

You just added 2 years in the subject headline lol?

Off-topic but wasn't Connor Watson good the other night!!! Zero kicking/passing/organisational skills but I miss having a 2013 Daniel Mortimer kinda utility (i.e. zippy little metre eater... kinda what Cook does TBH).

I guess that's Verrills. Interesting how our tactics have changed though. Did we let Watson go because of this tactical change?

It's always annoying when a little guy constantly eats metres through dummy-half runs and late offloads. Guessing you make more metres in aggregate by sending large players at these guys + getting Teddy/Toops/Hall/Manu/Latrell...etc to make all your metres for you. While a cheeky Watson dummy-half run can make some decent metres... Latrell doesn't need a cheeky gap to make metres.

Seems like Verrils is seen as a 9 - and one we want to develop.

Walker can't play first grade until he's 18. Looking at photos of him with the squad suggests he might want to put on a bit of size before he's the regular half.

Lamb and Hutch might be first graders, but they won't be first graders with us.

Lachlan Lam, on the other hand was desperately unlucky to be injured when he was and denied the chance to show us what he's got in first grade. Our experts had to make a decision on whether Lachlan was the man for the job next year and it would seem that, at least, we're not sure.

The Sydney Roosters have today announced the signing of rising halfback Kyle Flanagan.

20-year-old Flanagan will join the Club on a two-year deal commencing in 2020.

Flanagan has played eight NRL matches to date, seven of those so far this season.

“Kyle is a crafty playmaker and an exciting young talent, whose services we are delighted to have secured,” said Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly.

“We look forward to welcoming Kyle to the Roosters and to watching his development over the coming seasons,” he added.

Its a good signing. We were close to getting him late last year.
