Josh Reynolds impresses me...... but as a commentator on the radio. He is clear, precise and has a excellent footy brain....as well as being a bit witty. Im sure he has a future in the media. As far as on the field he is in the same boat as Keiran Foran and Trent Hodgkinson- their bodies have had enough. Im hearing that the Tigers are wiliing to pay 500k of his 800k contract.....but thats no bargain for whoever picks him up because he is worth 250k tops if put on the market and even then its a massive gamble

Random and rented, agree with you both about both Josh and Mick. The other thing I find about both thus far is that they don't appear to hate the Roosters (like tallis and others).

As for the signing of Kyle, it seems to me that if Sam Walker is the future, then one of Flanagan or Keary will have to make way for him when he's ready for first grade. Not sure how old Keary is right now but he doesn't strike me as someone close to retirement.

Right sided player, killed it in Cup, great goal kicker, great short kicking game, has handled FG in an inferior team quite easily and is YOUNG.

Give him Friend, Keary and Tedesco and watch him go.

Its crazy to think right now if walker is the future then Keary has to make way. A lot needs to happen first before we even are legally allowed for that to happen - the kid has to be 18 I think. Anyway Keary ain’t making way for anyone - especially a completely untested 16 year old!

But maybe the club club has deep concerns over Luke’s long term future due to the head knocks? I did hear a rumour the other day one more serious concussion this year Keary will retire so maybe there is some degree of truth to that and the club is stocking the ship with some cheap back up if that unfortunately did eventuate.

God forbid that if Keary had to retire & no Cronk the Roosters will struggle in 2020.
So we have Lam, Lamb, Hutchinson & a very young Walker plus the addition of Flanagan, I wonder who the Roosters will keep for the halves?
No Keary no Cronk leaves Flanagan & who? Its got a 2016 feeling.

Let’s hope he’s not close to retirement but I fear it may not be a choice he gets to make.

Walker is 17. Yes it's all about covering if something happens to Keary. The Roosters are always planning 2- 3 years in advance.

Very interesting Kelvin. Seems Lip's rumour may have a grain or more of truth.

Lamb and Hutchinson have both been told they won't be offered a contract in 2020. Hutchinson is trying to become a ball playing backrower so he can stay. He is far too slow to be a half at NRL level. Lamb has been stitched up in some respects as he only got the one crack. He is a really nice kid but I think he is far too quiet to be an elite half.

That leaves Keary, Lam and Flanagan and I'm sure they will all get rotated through. Walker is years away and will maybe play some reserve grade next year. I'm hearing they are looking at someone who can play in the halves and at hooker for the 14 jersey. They had best results and a more balanced team with Wing and Mortimer than the other rotation options in recent years.

Hutch becoming a ball playing back rower is interesting, good luck to him. Hope it works out.

Thanks SE...feel for the boys but I guess the writing was on the wall when we signed two new halfbacks.

Can see Hutch being a creative back row type. He seems a top bloke too. Wish them both well and hopefully a strong finish to the season with the Bears to keep them in the spotlight.

i guess thats the option for bigger body halves who cannot cut fg as a half. improve your d, toughen up a bit, add weight, and fitness and try your hand as a lock , second rower or centre. could work out, matto did it, wade graham springs to mind if he can be that good ill be happy

Thanks SideLineEye. Its a big worry if/when Keary go's down next year.
