I think that may be a little unfair to guys like Minichello and Perrett who are true club men..Possibly include Mitchell Aubusson in that list also...

I agree there are true "club men" who put in 100% every single game. Minichiello is not one of them. He is a salary cap thief who hasn't put his body on the line since 2005. Another one of our senior players "leading the way"...in blaming Carney for 2011...

But the fact that they are only going to claim $70K on the cap for a player that was the best in the game last season.

Even if it was all planned out, Todd still got in the cabs to go to the nightclubs. He still put the beer to his lips. I just hope he, Myles, Idris etc do twice to them what happened here. Of course, he'll have to try pretty hard, without the absurd media attention.

We need a marquee player IMO. But I refuse to take a negative view into next season. I am foolishly hopeful that 2012 will be a good year. I am going to wait until Round 6 before I start bagging them if necessary. Hopefully all of the shit has been flushed so to speak and we are left with guys that want to play and represent the club with pride.

Now that Carney [and Myles] have moved on there's no one else left for rest of the players to blame...but themselves!

Carney had a contract for 2011, and was Dally M star from 2010.
It would've been a brave Chairman to sack him at the start of 2011 on Smith's say so.

Smith would've done better to concentrate on coaching the players he was given and not getting angry and stuffing up interchanges, instead of worrying about sacking Carney pre 2011 season.

It could well be a contract, quite legal under NRL rules, whereby the club pays him that and claims him on the cap as that for next season but has to offload players the season after so as to fit in his loaded payment.

Personally I hope he stays out of trouble and has a happy footy career and happy life.
