    All wrong Ox.

Firstly, if you think he really is only getting $70K you are in fantasy land.

Secondly, it was obvious he wanted to get caught.

Thirdly, he refused all attempts by the club to get him "help" after the episode.

Fourthly, I wrote about it ages before Gold Coast even made an offer for him.

    It was a scam.

    It was a fraud.

    It was a conspiracy.

And Carney is a selfish cuunt.

    (Adzta/Greedy/Wazzup - very predictable response)

You know I keep hearing that Smith is this and that .I am certain he didnt want to resign Anasta I am certain he wanted watts and carney out a year ago.
Take all thee out back then and you have a settled young side with out influence.
I will spare Anasta though he better buckle up and put in at the beginning of the year and not at the end as he has done for the last 3 years.
He better work on his fitness and speed -he is pedestrian at the moment.
Both you and JT know...as long as the old fart has the ear of Nick, we'll keep signing idiots.

        100%

I saw him down in Coogee plenty of times hanging out with the great Willy Mason (who Watts was kind enough to introduce him to).

Plenty of my friends who go out down there saw him very messy in public.

When senior players tried to do something about it they were not backed up.

Carney thought he was above the law.

The young kids thought they could also get away with things because of it.

        The senior players were disillusioned.

All because Carney is a selfish cuunt.

        He sacrificed our season.

We should have won the comp.

        Now we are fuucked.

(By the way, anyone bagging his defence this season and his play in general should realize that he just did not give a shiit. A lot of thanks for that can be given to his new BFF that he will follow to Qld)

I'll take it that was aimed at me..And i couldn't disagree more..

He has been exposed as a defensive liability..Every coach in the comp now knows it..

His groin injury has sapped his confidence in attack to such a degree that he has become a "one trick pony' who can only crab sideways..

I agree he is a selfish carnt..I just don't think he is the champion player you seem to..

He is a very exciting, top level player..But he aint no champ..

He is more Anthony Mundine than Brad Fittler..

He won't win a comp in his career IMO..In fact i'm convinced he peaked in 2010..

He's a liability in defence because he's not willing to commit to the tackle. Its just an arm hung out here, another hung out there, a symptom of his lack of desire and lack of commitment to the team. His technique isn't great, but he's not terrible, I agree with JT. His defensive issues say much about his attitude to the game in general.

That's right HC. But take it one step further. He didn't commit because he didn't give a shiit.

When he cared last season his defence was much better.

              He is a spoilt brat.

I will be deathriding him for the rest of his career.

If Carney ends up at the GC with Myles, what a game it will be when we play them.

I just imagine Carney or Myles being lined up and pounded by the likes of a raging Jared, take that you selfish prycks. Well thats my dream.

                  They will kill us.

Look at the team they have for next season.

The salary cap doesn't apply to them at all.

Gould calls them a footballers club. No great stretch of the imagination to understand what part of that means. #howhighisthecarpetnow?

                            • I don't get it.

We gave him arguably the best year of his life. He was on top of the world and effectively gave all doubters/critics a good nine months of get fuucked.

We were paying him good money, too.

So what happened? Between the 2010 Grand Final and the start of 2011, what made him stop caring? Why did he decide to throw all of that away, to put himself at risk of being deregistered, to stop caring about a side he seemed to love throughout 2010? All because Searle promised him a spot at the Titans, two years down the track? Or because Nate Myles told him to stop caring?

I get he was drinking. And hanging around with Mason, Boyd, Myles, Watts - negative influences. But I can't help but think back to last year and conclude that he really did love playing for us, and loved it when we were winning. Are the aforementioned really that poisonous that they managed to override Carney's desire to perform on the field and convince him it'd be better not caring?

The whole thing reeks, but unless the theorists are holding something back, it doesn't all add up. Why throw away everything you hold dear on the off chance that in 18 months time it will be a bit better?

I think, as I always have, that the answer lies early on in the alphabet.
