I'm jealous that the dogs have signed one of the top 3 coaches in the game.

There is the top 3 - bennett, hasler and bellamy - and then there is daylight next.

We are stuck with the rest.

The real question now is, why didn't our club go after a winner like hasler? We continue to be left behind.

I've lost a lot of respect for politis. His decision making since freddy has retired has in the whole been terrible.

Fred, even if we did go after Hasler he wouldn't come - no matter how much was offered. Hasler knows who would make the decisions at the Roosters regarding recruitment, attitude and culture and it wouldn't be him. And Hasler is a control freak so he couldn't deal with someone else overriding him constantly.

Hasler will have total reign at the Dogs. Bullfrog is long gone.

we should make the bottom of the 8 next year and then go a couple better the year after with a fast fullback and hopefully a halfback or 5 8

the danger is if we plateau like Drugcastle did this year

I think the jury should still be out on Hasler at this stage..

He may well be as good as you think he is, but he still has to prove himself at the Dogs before I would put him anywhere near the Bennett category..

I don't believe he will have the same passion, support and respect at the Dogs as he has had at his beloved Manly...

you only have to look at all the crap that's been going on with the Tigers Tim Moltzen and ST merge..st merge signed him months ago to a 3 year deal and now Moltzen looks like getting out of it and staying with the Tigers ..

I think year 3 is Smith's verdict. He has taken us to a gf after finishing last and then he had the Carney crap to deal with, year 3 will decide if he's worth keeping. If he can get us back in the top 5 then he'll probably get an extension.
