"I think they're being really pedantic on forward passes. You've got to be sure. If you're unsure, let the play keep going".

I agree. If there's one thing worse than a missed forward pass, it's a fair pass called forward! (Anyone remember the 2010 GF?!).
The benefit of the doubt was not on forward passes but on line ball passes

Instead of Keary saying on tv the other night...
          para:
"you win some you lose some" "in the end it evens out", as regards forward passes and refereeing decisions...
          what he should've said was:
"I'm sick of my team the Roosters having passes called forward THAT ARE NOT FORWARD, and having every pass that might, if run thru a microscope be forward, called forward...when OTHER TEAMS throw blatant forward passes that are not called forward. There were at least 4 such passes thrown by the Dogs in the Roosters game the other day".
"Other teams, that are winning matches with forward passes".

            No!
            I'm outraged!
In NRL the ball is not supposed to be passed forward.

Trouble with Trent's idea is that...all our possible forward passes could be called forward and the possible forward passes of other teams could be let go.

Teddy's pass to Cronk was not forward...it went backwards out of his hands.

Tries were scored from forward passes in tonight's 6pm game.
A pass in tonight's 6pm game was not forward but was called forward.

Same old, same old...nothing will ever change.

What should be changed is the "one on one" stripping rule

In tonight's 6pm game Raiders Hodgson's stripping of the ball after there'd been 3 in the tackle and two had dropped off, was a perfect example of why such a thing should be banned.
Hodgson had his hands on the ball, was holding the ball, the other tacklers dropped off then he stripped the ball.
That possession led to a try.

If there are ever two or more players in a tackle, then the ball should never be allowed to be stripped from the man in possession after the others drop off.

Wholeheartedly agree bondi.boy. This stripping rule is killing the flow of a game and making it like ping pong. The attacker has to close down the ball straigt away, forget about ball movement, while the defending team have this unfair three on on to stop his progress, with a strip at the end. It does nothing for the speed of the game either. Half the time the three will hangon on for a long while slowing the play, before the strip. Referees have to be quicker to call held when it is obvious forward momentum is halted.
