i agree with other posts. the rain and vikings looked fantastic. BUT the defence of the oppositions looked absolutely terrible.

if we get done, it will be injuries. we may not even make the 4. im worried no matter what, well be playing with injuries in the finals, and pick up a few more a long the way.

It was a training run for the Storm, no pressure on them

Shows just how crap the Donkeys are and how much of a threat the Beagles are.

The Storms are the most well drilled footy team I’ve seen.

It amazes me that every other team, given the professional nature of the game these days cannot execute anywhere near the way they do.

We fall all into that latter category, with tough aggression, individual talent and class that see us prevail over oppositions.

Only GF day last year where we hit our straps, and even then it was a 20 minute burst to break the Storms hearts.

Same again this year please. Go Easts

So long as we can stay in the top 4 and come into September with our team intact we have a good shot at b2b.
We always play better against good opposition.
It’s not going to be a walk in the park though.
The Storm and the Raiders are flying.
Lets hope that they peak too early and like last year we peak right at the end.

            Its because of the refs.
And to think that their are people/supporters out there that dont rate Ballamy. They lost 14 players after the 2010 season & were minor premiers in 2011. If the Roosters lost 14 players from their top 30 they would be lucky to make the top 10.

Yeah, they beat the Broncos at Suncorp with Gerard Sutton officiating. .. but I suppose Cam Smith was really the lead ref

WHY aren't we the best drilled team in the NRL?
That's the question that should be asked of Trent/coaches.

This is probably going to sound crazy to some, but I believe we have more 'individual player talent' than any other squad. Maybe I am biased. And a lot of those more talented guys push the envelope, instead of just knowing and playing the role. It takes experience before the develop more mental toughness not to give the opposition get out of jail cards by over playing our hands.

We take chances and some are really dumb options. Look at how many passes drift pass our left edge and float off into touch. It is frustrating as you can see it happening before it happens. But then you'll get superb combinations that look like they've been playing together forever. At our best we are spectacular. And it's because of the talent.

Now as for mental toughness that's another thing and it's the first thing that Bellamy demands. Without it you're not part of his plans. That's why Bellamy is still worried about some of the young charges. And he's working hard on instilling the team discipline thing.

Over the years Toups has become more disciplined and played to his role. We still have young centres with heaps of talent who need that composure in their game and commitment for the full 80. It's not there yet, too much clocking off and lack of awareness and effort defensively. But the more we work as a TEAM. And get behind the examples of Boyd Cordner in effort and commitment. The better drilled we will become.

                    • Because Melbourne are.
bondi.boy there's been alot of players injured, SOO & rested this year so its been a disjointed & clunky season but they are still in the top 4 & as long as they are in the top 4 they are as good a chance of winning it as the other 3 in the top 4.

We need to learn to play as a team again. Individual brilliance is just not getting us over the line even against the lowest of sides. I’m afraid all this resting players, suspensions and injuries has disrupted our mojo very badly. We have control over suspensions and resting players. We need to field a regular team and settle down and stop this crap resting players and suspensions or we could miss out on the top 4.
