Was just thinking, since there is so much love in the room thanks to Trollboy, i'd post the greatest ever cover of Sunshine of your love you'll ever hear ... Living Colour, the best all black band in history imo. Makes me wish the black people would give up on that rap shit and get back into hard rock like Vernon Reid. Go Vernon !!

There is another book based loosely on Jim called "Turn Down the Night" which is a TOP book and I used to own it but alas has been lost. Get it if you can.

I do have the vinyl copy of American Prayer and was a HUGE Doors fan. Back from the Coogee Bay Hotel at 3:30am and Roadhouse Blues would go on....

Good to see another with such fine taste ... you lucky bugger would have loved to have seen Living Colour live, ive seen Vernon Reid plenty of times, but never with the other members of LC. Vernon comes to Australia a fair bit, back in the 90's he setup a day school for about 50 lucky buggers to fine tune their guitaring. My mate was lucky enough to be chosen.

And i just adore An American Prayer. One of the hardest to find Doors albums there is. I remember the haze i used to get myself into before listening to that ... man what a trip lol

I also have an EP of the Doors called "Alive she Cried" with a few live tracks on it. I was a bit of a collector in my youth. I got to hook up my record player and dust off some of the 200 vinyl albums I have.

Yeah i remember Alive She Cried ... had a version of Little Red Rooster on it if i remember correctly
They made several albums after Jim's death ... LA Woman and American Prayer are two i know of. One of the 4 CDs on the box set was made after Jim's death too ... pretty sure its The Future Aint What it Used to Be which features a never released before song called Orange County Suite.

Fark thats a great version of that song mate, its rock and ROLL.

The black man in rock thing is something often discussed with some of my mates, its a damn shame they ALL want to be gangsters these days. They are the all important ROLL.

Id say its only Lenny Kravitz and Hootie and The Blowfish who resemble black men letting it rip with a guitar these days, other than Living Colour. That Love rears up its ugly head song, brings back some drunken memories for me.
