Symmonds season was shocking, not so much for his playing ability, we know he can play, but more so with his focus, he is not the only one that did it, but he gave away some ripper penalties while the team was under the pump, stuff that after his 2010 form you would not expect from such a player.

Certainly he will need to shape up that part of his game because he has the talent.

Of course he's not. He's entirely unsuited to 5/8, and will never play first grade there for anyone. When you have Anasta at 5/8, you're going to get some desperate suggestions regarding replacements

Sign him on a 1 year deal for cheap, if he finds that '09 form we look like genius' and we can upgrade the contract for 2013 with the new TV deal/upgraded cap.
If not, we piss him and Anasta off and look elsewhere, we will have more time than this year (thanks Todd) to look for a replacement and there will be plenty out there looking for upgraded contracts/new teams in 2013.
And I know people will think, why waste a year on him of he fails, but it is either him or Bwaiff...We won't win a comp with Anasta at 5/8 (not saying we will with Mortimer though...clearly)
