Guess I'm biased but how I see it:
- EVERYTHING was going their way. Possession, completions, penalties...etc. They won in just about EVERY stat aside from being able to score tries.
- They got 3 tries off piggyback penalties in their attacking half. We had very little ball at these moments and zero momentum... largely due to strips and penalties ALL going their way.
- My summary would be that they spent waaaaaay to much time trying to strip the ball and spoil the ball. Whereas, we were constantly shifting the ball from side to side, building pressure and sticking to proven defensive structures.
- One positive is that Jared seems to have cracked the strip rule by falling forwards onto the ball. Raiders and the Storm are the 2 teams that have chosen to strip on every tackle instead of focussing on their game-plan (Raiders started copying mid-season and have done alright ever since). I suspect there's more to come and Robbo has some tricks for us to pull out if we meet either team in a do or die finals encounter. Just saying...
