Yeah I paraphrase but he's like... 'had a number of calls gone the other way then who knows'... '[we were] 10 points down with not a lot of things going [our] way...'

Guess I'm biased but how I see it:
    - EVERYTHING was going their way. Possession, completions, penalties...etc. They won in just about EVERY stat aside from being able to score tries.
    - They got 3 tries off piggyback penalties in their attacking half. We had very little ball at these moments and zero momentum... largely due to strips and penalties ALL going their way.
    - My summary would be that they spent waaaaaay to much time trying to strip the ball and spoil the ball. Whereas, we were constantly shifting the ball from side to side, building pressure and sticking to proven defensive structures.
    - One positive is that Jared seems to have cracked the strip rule by falling forwards onto the ball. Raiders and the Storm are the 2 teams that have chosen to strip on every tackle instead of focussing on their game-plan (Raiders started copying mid-season and have done alright ever since). I suspect there's more to come and Robbo has some tricks for us to pull out if we meet either team in a do or die finals encounter. Just saying...

Yeah if the Raiders can't beat us when:
      - at home
      - with 58% possession. 58%!!!!
      - Klein riding their dicks. There was half a dozen wtf calls in their favour
      - no Cordner, SST or Friend. Verrills also hurt

If the Raiders can't beat us given all that - did I mention 58% possession?! - then Lord help those grubby thugs with their knees and elbows in spines every second tackle when we face them in a crunch finals game in Sydney.

      • Canberra is half decent this year so for once we took them seriously. No complacency. That’s why they always beat us in Canberra.

        • Listening to the "Big League Wrap" and Mick Ennis is talking about a 'controversial' incident (in his view) where Angus Crichton strips jordan rapana. Ennis is of the view that call by Klein went against the faiders. For the life of me, I can't remember the incident. To Ennis' credit, he briefly mentioned that some calls also went the faiders' way. Anyone know what he's on about?

Oh, and the panel talk was mostly about the faiders and essentially how good they were today. Get me a bucket.

Ennis is part of the Raiders coaching staff. He was clearly a touch bitter.

Yeah describes what they didn’t get like that Angus strip which I haven’t got a clue about but ‘yeah the raiders also got some favourable calls’ without actually describing them..Hodgson offside when charging at the kicker and going right past the turkey in yellow was nothing really.

              • Canberra have a poor record against the top 8 teams. They’re just not good enough. They are not coached to win, rather they’re coached to spoil. That will win some games but not the big ones. Ricky appears delusional in thinking he’s team is better than it actually is. He knows that if he coached them to play in a more conventional way, they wouldn’t even compete.

                • I watched Big League Wrap for the roosters talk and just when i thought my expletive filled day was over, Ennis pipes up "Yes Von a few controversial calls that helped the.. " naturally expecting the word Raiders but when he said us I abusively rewound it for confirmation.

You have to wonder what game they watched, all nodding in agreement.

Hodgson metres offside for kicks that Cronk couldn't get away and Klein giving them a pen too, there's your controversial calls Ennis & co - the black and white stuff, How much of a leg up do you want

                  • Yes I had to go back to hating Ennis again after this one eyed comments.

                    • I bet they didn't mention Croker stripping Manu when the tackle was clearly complete. Or the phantom penalty at the end. Or play being stopped when Latrell picked up the ball to score. I could go on...

What about the strip on the ground by Keary when they gave the ball back to Canberra and they then scored their first try?

                        • The idiots see what they want to see, As other's have alluded to we won despite all that went against us during the game, Well done to the boys for such a great effort.

                          • I've come to accept that almost all of the media/commentators hope we lose in their television coverages...with a few exceptions like Freddy and Mark Gasnier. As disappointing as it is, if you watch them with that lens it's slightly less annoying...just.

You could see in their language that people like Sampson, Ennis, Meninga obviously didn't hide their feelings. Not sure about Braith but before the game he said "Ricky already hates the Roosters"!

Which is why I watch the game with the sound off - at least until we are well in front, at which point the disappointment in their voices adds to my pleasure. (I remember the despair in the voice of Rex Mossop when we were thrashing St George in the 75 GF.)

I think Brandy and Warren Smith are fair when they call our games but most others constantly talk about what our opposition needs to do to beat us. Drives me insane
