The ball is held properly, they are preparing to play the ball fast so are relaxing the grip - it is the cheesiest, cheapest and stupidest rule ever brought in and encourages gang tackling and players peeling from tackles. (something that's against the rules but never penalised) Robbo will never coach it because it's right up there with laying down for penalties or deliberately throwing the ball at an offside player - pure cheese.
