  • Robbos style

Cronks comments on robbos style. He said Robbos defensive style of coaching holds steady against every style of attack and he noted watching teams change game plans several times in game to try to break it down. Most impressive, he is on his way to becoming the number 1 coach in the game , if not already. Hes timing of a teams form and knowing exactly where they are now, where they've come from and where there heading is second to none . He has the chooks timed and primed to the minute and I think we're a better team now than last year. Not going the early crow but I'm quietly confident... go the mighty roosters

On his way? I wouldn't swap him for any of them - including Bellamy.

Robinson coaches the team to play in the spirit of the game. The less said about the other bloke the better.

True. Gotta love that he doesn't coach our guys to feign injury or to exploit the ridiculous stripping rule.

Winning isn't everything to him in isolation, it's also about how you win and still play with integrity and respect the game.

I was at yesterdays game in the members. 2 things stood out in regards to Robbo’s style. At one time during the game in the 2nd half when running to the Randwick end the team looked like an advancing Trojan army - all where in motion. He talks about the defence thing flowing as a unit but the attack had the same vibe.
Post game to do the victory song on the ground in front of the members and Ladies stand for those close to the players was a class act.

In my opinion, more than any coach I have seen, TR coaches for the end of the year. The games during the normal rounds are but preparation for the semis.
The way he does it and the players he has enables good results along the way.
the way he approaches the sport and his genuine love of RL has his team playing in the spirit.of the game.

I would have no other coach as TR is a real asset to the game, Bellamy is a blight on the game

So if Robbo left, no one would want Bellyache to coach us?

                    Massive compliment coming from Cronk.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Bellamy has 2 premierships from 16 years of coaching at the same club. Robbo has 2 from 6 years. If Bellamy's a the 'best' coach or a 'super coach' then so is Robbo.

Arguably Robbo has the better strike rate and the 2019 premiership would give us the outright lead.

I agree Kingbilly. He differs from other coaches in that he doesn't rush the process either. He uses the comp matches to blend and develop the cattle that he takes into the spring carnival. He is our own Bart Cummings. Barring injuries e will be ready and every other coach knows it. .

I said it after the grand final and I stand by it, Robbo will finish his career as the best coach in NRL history.

We don’t need another coach because we are winning.

NB. Would Trent have the same success somewhere else, say a former powerhouse like Canterbury or Parramatta?
                            ..it’ll be interesting to see

I love Robbo.. We are so lucky to have him. While the media fawns all over Bellamy and the grubby Storm, it’s the Roosters who have the best coach in the NRL. He’s a class act, a real gentleman and an ornament to the game. He has total respect for the game of Rugby League and its history unlike Bellamy who is happy to manipulate the smallest of loopholes just to win, even if it means changing the whole fabric of the game.
