  • Team List vs Dragons Round 23

Siosiua Taukeiaho has been named to make his return to the side from the interchange bench, while Sitili Tupouniua shuffles to the reserves.

The remainder of the squad is currently unchanged to the side that lined up in Round 22.

    ROUND 23 SQUAD
    1. James Tedesco
    2. Daniel Tupou
    3. Latrell Mitchell
    4. Joseph Manu
    5. Brett Morris
    6. Luke Keary
    7. Cooper Cronk (c)
    8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
    9. Sam Verrills
    10. Isaac Liu
    11. Angus Crichton
    12. Mitchell Aubusson
    13. Victor Radley
    INTERCHANGE
    14. Nat Butcher
    15. Zane Tetevano
    16. Poasa Faamausili
    17. Siosiua Taukeiaho
    RESERVES
    18. Lindsay Collins
    19. Lachlan Lam
    20. Billy Smith
    21. Sitili Tupouniua

Cordner having another week off (perhaps the quad rumour was true, no confirmation by club - they still say calf) but makes sense to rest him with Angus going well anyway

SST back is a big plus but wouldn't rush him back. Interesting to see farmer named ahead of sitili - don't think SST will start but late chance of tets to swap with liu, and siliti replacing farmer on the bench?

Also as mentioned elsewhere, a chance of cronk being rested if struggling from last game and Lam playing - if cronk is fine though I would say he will play this close to the finals

Having watched Robbo's pre match presser last Saturday I'm not surprised Cordner is still out, he hinted there was another small issue on top of the calf strain, absolutely no need to rush him back until he is fully ready to go.

Looks like Tuponuia is getting a rest with the Silly farmer retaining his bench spot. A good luxury to have to be able to give the lads a rest leading into the finals!

Brown gets punted, but you look at that Dragons team and you wonder why they're not pushing for the 8.

Good news about Tauky. 2 or 3 games lead up to the semis should be enough to have him firing at the right time. Hopefully Boyd back next week and Jake the week after.

I was thinking perhaps the reverse to give him a run with the Bears to get some more game time.

He wouldn't need a rest unless carrying an injury niggle.

Could be possible. Also maybe to Bring the Silly Farmer back up to speed after his injury. Just in case Sitili Bill Williams goes down injured. Poor ol Lindsay is waaaay down the pecking order now eh

Again the Roosters are superior on paper & if they turn up to play they should win. I dont think Cronk who is captain will be rested as mentioned on another thread.

I think that's a testament to our depth. One scribe said we have the best top 23 of all the club's. That's at least what you need to win comps in the NRL these days.

If we have everyone fit for the semis, Bears must be some sort of chance to go well. Plus U'20s are top of the table atm.

It would be great to have 3 teams there at the business end. Top and tail look good. Bears have a crucial last home game this weekend when the result could see them top four or at the bottom end of top eight.

it will be hard to see who makes the bears squad from the roosters. the rules state you must have played more than 50% of your games in the team to be eligible.

The old way of doing it was if you have your first grade team playing in the semis then all players in the squad are eligible to play reserves. Presume that still applies.
