But guys like Pearce and Klemmer have come across pretty poor as well.

    Browny doesn't deserve that lot.
Unfortunately they are the three money buys and SOO reps. As usual I think there's more to this than meets the eye.

As soon as Brownie got wind of this he pulled the plug when a suitable arrangement was made. So he effectively resigned then exposing it all into the light of day with four rounds to go
    .
The media jump all over it like punters on a hot tip. They call a media conference and then Brownie does the media rounds (he'd already begun) while Gardiner is forced to back up this mutual agreement story, which soon falls apart.

It soon leaks that there's much more to it with Adam O'Brien linked to the dealings etc. No doubt some of the playing group would have known. I'm guessing this as after all this is a rugby league club and a one town one at that. Brownie looks to have outsmarted Gardiner and his assistant, who have become the dart boards in the equation.

That might make me a conspiracy theorist. But in the game of good guys and bad guys Brownie is walking into the distance with a white hat. Not many claiming that he threw a grenade into Newcastle's finals hope by deserting them.

Ponga's wasn't a great deal better but his youth and the infuences around him could be the reason he acted like a potato head.

My concern with O'Brien. And I've said this from day one on this is O'Brien is like a stranger being invited to dinner at the castle (being the Roosters) and walking off with the cutlery among other things. This is a competitive world, where trust is paramount. We have extended that to O'Brien.Yet a good ten week outside the season this Newcastle rubbish begins. O'Brien is the central traget. We are trying to win back ti backs and developing a great junior base.

Where is O'Brien going to look first? You don't have to be Einstein.

Less than one year and ten weeks ago O'Brien was crying as he spoke at the Storm's wards night. Lauding praise on Bellamy who said he will always pedge his loyalty. We have experienced less than one year of that loyalty. It's not my cop. But we shall wait and see. I'm far from the head cop.
Hi Louis - the potato head reference to Pearce got a chuckle. As for Ponga influences around him summed it up for me when I saw him recently in Bronte with Pearce and Johns. It wasn’t a good look.

It was the first thing that came to mind when I was watching it LOL

Ponga did do a damage control interview on FOX since, which showed him in a better light. Pearce claimed loyalty to Brownie too. But it's hard to explain their tumultous loss and then Brown gonski within days. I wouldn't be happy if I was a Knights fan as both went missing in action.

Too little too late from both of them, Ponga with his strawberry thickshake quote came across as disrespectful and Pearce as captain saying his mum could coach the team was further proof he isn't a captain.
