As you say, most of it will most likely go toward topping up existing player contracts !

No way. JWH is a second rower, Maubs is a lock that will play 120 minutes if needed. The reason Jake made 50 plus tackles every game last year is because Maubs was out.

Nah Ricko was a great defensive player, there's not many similarities imo.

JWH makes good metres per run, has a good work rate and plays with plenty of aggression and passion. He is a forward leader in the making.

The reason Jake made 50+ tackles this year is because he was playing longer minutes. I don't think Maubs has the ability to make metres up the middle, he's much better on the fringes. With Ryles leaving and such an inexperienced starting front row they'll need all the help they can get. If Ryles was still here we could probably get away with playing Cordner/Maubs playing at lock and let them run wide of the ruck but making good metres is crucial to any success we have this year.

I also don't think we should break up the Pearce/Maubs combo it's one of the few go to plays we'll have next year.

Is that much the same as a rising prick has no conscience? My father used to say that to me.

                • Ryles is no Webcke -no loss .Totally insignificant.

                  • "We would expect the Roosters would wear any difference in any contract should we get to that with Ryles.

To force the former Australian forward out the door with 12 months still to run on his contract, the Roosters would have had to pay a severance fee of at least $100,000.

This means Melbourne Storm can effectively pick him up for around the same price - and the Bondi Junction outfit is still paying half of Ryles' wages.

                    • So, let me get this straight, the Roosters would rather release their most experienced prop forward and pay him to play against them than keep him on their roster and pay him to play for them? Have I got it right or am I missing something in the money aspect? Dear oh dear oh dear, it must make sense to the Roosters power brokers to do this thing.

It`s not right.More crap from the telegrapth.
Ryles had an option for a third year. Our club made him an offer which he later didn`t accept, leaving him uncontracted for next year.We will owe zero make up payments on any future deals regarding Ryles.

                              • He'll kill it for the Storm and get away with a lot of the penalties that he gave away here. Bromwich and Ryles starting front rowers....that might have made a difference in the semi this year against the Warriors.
