Cooper was playing better as the forwards were playing well and the fact he had Barnes as second-receiver rather than Faingaa (useless) and McCabe (good defender and tough, not good with the ball)

Cooper would be awesome in league. Where he gets to do what he does well i.e. run and pass. People judging him on those last 2 games against SA and NZ have no idea. He was forced to play a defensive kicking game which he is totally unsuited to. He is a league player stuck in the wrong code, for sure.

Perfect chance to sign him up, value has just been sliced in half wouldn't be getting big offers for next year anywhere league or Union.

Offer him a 3 year deal, first year low knowing he'll be out injured the second two being a fair amount. He'll return round 15-20 let him play NSW cup to get used to league, give him a good pre-season and see if he can hack it.

Reality is there's not many creative 5/8's running around in league and the ones who (be it juniors or first graders) are all tightly tied up by their clubs. At least we'd be trying something here whilst we wait to see if POS can unearth some talent, can't be any worse than watching Anasta, some reject recruit or youngster try to play a role next to Pearce that they're not made for.

It was nothing freakish, but he was clearly gaining confidence, taking the ball to the line. Nice flat ball to Barnes for the opening try.

It wasn't a great game either, but at least we tried to run, which is what we should have been doing the entire Cup. Higginbotham showed he is so much better than Elsom it isn't funny, and Barnes is all class, I don't care how tough McCabe is. Ioane is criminally underused by the backline.

Wales really do miss Priestland. Hook is bad, Jones is worse. Neither of them have a clue as to how to play ball in hand rugby.
