  • The Gosford experiment

A crowd of 6232.. Pathetic really.. Considering they are supposed to be a league area and want there own team..

I dont see why we bother taking any games up there.. Better to play at the SFS, I would have expected us to hit at least 10K at the SFS..

They are a league town and they do want THEIR OWN TEAM. North Sydney Bears - Central Coast Bears. Not the Sydney Roosters.

Understood.. Why bother with games there if they will ONLY watch there OWN team.. Is a 100K worth it.. If we hit 10K at SFS the 100K would be insignificant..

Not many people will pay $25 to watch a reserve grade standard match.

Roosters still hold the ground record for a crowd at Bluetongue. 19k+ a few seasons back. When we were, or should I say the club were playing decent footy. The Mariners don't fare much better than 8-10k even when they are leading the comp.
If you think Saturdays crowd was lame, you probably aren't aware of where our team is on the table. People won't pay to go out on a cold night to watch a rabble of a team.

I live on the CC Melon and I go to Roosters games at Bluetongue when they play.

I hear all the "We want our own team" etc, etc, but I wonder how succesful it would be and how many people would attend each week. IF the CC TEAM were decent and were winning games, then people would attend but if they were losing then the team may not get the crowds to the game. I would love to see a team up here though.

I don't like Gosford compared to the SFS. And we don't have a good record. I think however it has not officially failed. Maybe it will if they put on a game like Cowboys v Warriors at Gosford.

Who would go? I don't think it would be well attended.

I hate the Gosford game because I can't get there!
I can see the NRL's original idea but it hasn't been successful.

I love the venue, its a terrific stadium to watch league at....and I love the closeness.....

I left Bluetongue at 7.31 on Sat night and drove in my driveway at 8.45 and that was via Rooty Hill to drop Mitch off....

The ONLY thing I hate about Bluetongue is our record.....oh and the security......
