Off the top of my head...

Whoever the Broncos try to pair with Wallace.

    Hardly envious of Sutton/Reynolds either.

You guys heard it here first, he will come good for us!
Only downside is Bwaiff moves back to forwards?
Just trying to be positive, you negative bastards need to settle down and at least save judgement until his first game at the earliest.

        Travis Burns and Luke Walsh

        Albert Kelly and Wade Graham

        Sam Williams and Josh McCrone

        Joel Romelo and Trent Hodkinson

and most other teams have one decent half and one ordinary half - Cowboys, Titans, Brisbane, Newcastle

Im happy to give the kid with plenty to prove a chance to do that.
We are so blessed that the signing has your approval Melonhead. Did Smithy and Noyce check with you before giving the go ahead?

The only posotive I see is Mortimer trying to get back to his best and Smiths track record, with young players! Hope it pays off.

You couldn't have picked a worse example, just the type of pairing PWN will no doubt endorse. He rates his halves based on

                ability to create... 49%
                ability to run.... 49%
                ability to organise... 0.5%
                Execution of set plays...0.5%
ability to kick (short and long)... 0.5%

I dont know who decided it was a good idea to sign Daniel, nothing against him but he hasn't done anything since that Grand Final run with Parramatta and lets be honest it was on the back of Hayne rather then this little 5/8's ability. I just cant see how he can contribute to the team next year.

There is nothing we can do now but hope for the best.

Tagive is bigger, faster and all round much better than Kane Linnett ever was/will be.

Bosden is a talented young forward much in the mould of Boyd Cordner with good skills and good work rate.

Ailomai - ??????? never seen him play

Mortimer - Not a fan, but willing to give him a go. I mean can he possibly be any worse than Anasta?

Unlike others who rate their halves on effort and defence

                        Not execution and attack

i really dont understand the negativity. even if he is shit, so what. we are paying max 100k for him and he will go and play for newtown. he has a great attitude and that is no secret so its not like he is going to tarnish our clubs reputation and at the same time, its not like we are relying on him in the halves for 2012 considering we already have a proven pairing in anasta and pearce even though many of us would contend that they have their imperfections. So on the negative side, he goes off into oblivion without tarnishing the clubs reputation and providing us with a bit of depth and giving newtown another selection headache.... I cant see a downside there.

On the upside, we have signed a young half who has it all to prove and from all reports has his mind set on doing just that. Say what you like about his 2009 gf form but the fact of the matter is that the kid was one of the vital cogs in that parra side in that run to the finals and he definitely put together some special performances irrespective of the hayne factor. if you could equate carney to hayne, then mortimer was just as influential for parra as say SKD or pearce was for us as second fiddle to carney imo which will do me just fine. The excuses about the set-up at parra, the constant changing of the halves and backline combinations and the poor form/coaching have been said to death so i wont go there again but as i have said, i cant appreciate the downside. We either get the best out of him and he becomes our long-term 5/8 along with that of NSW or he goes into oblivion without taking up too much cap space or causing our club any bad press.

Good work POS I say. With smithy, elliott and JT at the healm who have a reputation for getting the best out of players and all have had pretty good coaching and playing careers, he couldnt have better support/a better environment in which to get back to his best.

And on a side note about mitchell, anyone who honestly thinks he is some discard is delusional. the kid was rated as equally good as jake friend when they were young with mitchell being a year older and his game complements friend's perfectly. Again a young player who has the natural ability and seems to be benefiting from a change of scenery. With some hard work in the offseason, a few of these kids like mortimer, mitchell, bosden and tagive in particular could be anything. they all have the natural ability and have proven to be up to the challenge in first grade to varying capacities so who knows. I think the club is doing the right thing. Time will tell but for now, we should get behind him until his actual performances warrant such criticisms

I guess Newtown needed a new half??? Coz I don't reckon we'll ever see him in 1st grade ever again

Top post Roz. I totally agree. Give the kid a chance because we have very little to lose and the gains could be immense.
